Currently Mark of the Betrayer (MoB) is a late-availability spell for Regulus - when cast, its target will take damage and a movement debuff as soon as he uses an ability.
I have never bothered with MoB for a few simple reasons -
- I don't like having to rely on the actions of my opponent to trigger an ability.
- The ability is not currently strong enough to act as a disincentive, unless the opponent is very weak
- By the time the ability is available I have committed to a given build path
A few suggestions -
- Put MoB on a fuse. If the opponent doesn't trigger it within 10 seconds it will auto-trigger for lessened damage and debuff
- Make the debuff ability-related, not movement-related. Regulus is already up to his wings in snares and slows. MoB, once triggered, should make opponent abilities cost more mana or suffer increased cast time, silence for 5 seconds, etc...
- Alternately, make MoB a passive related to Snipe or Mines, so you invest points in it for a chance to place moB effect on an enemy who trips your mines or gets hit with a snipe. This would be cool because it synergize neatly and be easy to implement...
What do you guys think? Anyone actually use MoB effectively as it stands?
