I'm having trouble with Stardock Central, with registering two games. The odd thing is, one is actually registered and working - but Stardock Central complains on startup, and on other occasions, that the rgeistration information is wrong.
The first game is Sins of a Solar Empire. After some hassle figuring out how to buy this wiuth tokens, eventually I purchased it, installed it, and it's now running - spent most of today playing it.
However, on a regular basis, while Stardock Central is running, it pops up a window saying:
Failed to volidate your sin, sose registration information.
Please verify that you have entered your email address and serial number correctly.
I had Stardock email me the registration key and I reentered it just in case, but it had no effect one way or the other. I still get the popup error (and the game still works regardless.)
The other problem game is Dungeon Lords: Collector's Edition. I tried registering it using a key from a legitimate store-bought copy but I'm now getting the same kind of popup as I'm getting for Sins of a Solar Empire. It's possible that the problem is that mine is an Australian copy, which I gather is different from the US release.
What SDC really needs is a way to tell the game to pretend that it never HEARD of a game you've unsuccessfully tried to register. After all, DL:CE is actually installed and working (although SDC didn't recognise it when it scanned my system). It's just the harmless but annoying error popup I want to get rid of.
(I read on the forums of somebody else having a similar problem just with Sins who fixed it with a reinstall. However, it's a legitimate bug and Stardock would have us believe that they try to keep their paying customers happy. I work in tech support; the blunt instrument approach is frequently effective but typically does not relect well on the person suggesting it. If it helps, the DL:CE serial number looks like 4axx-xxxx-xxxx-xx7e, where the x'es stand for lower-case hexadecimal digits.)
