Still seeing Empire Tree scroll bar bug in 1.02

Hi there,

When there are enough items in the Empire Tree to make the scroll bar appear, there is a strange bug where scrolling the mouse wheel or click on the bar or arrows causes part of the Empire Tree to disappear instead of scrolling properly.

I am running Windows Vista 64 bit (on Intel Core 2 Duo), resolution is 1920 x 1200, although I have seen the problem in other resolutions as well. Graphics card = NVIDIA 8800 GT.

Wow, I've never seen this and we've got close to the same system. Can you take a screenshot and post it here?

I just saw this for the first time yesterday. Win XP all updates.
ATI x800 vid card, latest ATI drivers.

I think it happens when the game is paused. It's the only way I've replicated it.

So if you pause the game and the scroll bar is present then scrolling makes things disappear. Unpause the game and it will still do that until you exit the game and reload.

So long as you don't try to scroll while it's paused you are fine.

I am seeing a similar scroll bar bug - updated to 1.02. For me, it only occurs while the game is paused. Using the scroll wheel to scroll the empire tree while the game is paused causes items to disappear rather than scroll. A quick unpause / repause refreshes the empire tree. After unpausing, the tree works fine for me. I'll try to get a screen shot.

running at 1200x1024

I have the same problem - the scroll bar makes part of the empire tree disappear. I'm not sure about the pause/unpause bit, but I do pause a lot during play. What I did notice that is if I click on the blank/disappeared part of the tree, the tree seems to redraw correctly (until I scroll again). Restarting the game and reloading from a save does not fix the problem, though.

My setup:
SoaSE v1.02
Vista (32-bit)
4GB RAM
Intel C2D E6700
nVidia 8800GTX
1600x1200 res, all settings @highest

I just bought the game on Friday, so I don't know if versions before 1.02 had the same problem.

I see this at least once every few hours. It generally occurs when I have most (or all) elements in the empire tree expanded, and use the scroll wheel.

Win XP fully patched

1.5 gb ram

Running at 1200x1024

Same problem here. It seems to be caused by attempting to scroll the Empire window while the game is paused.

SoaSE v1.02 (happened in 1.01 also)
Vista Ultimate 32-Bit (fully patched)
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600
3GB RAM
nVidia GeForce 7950GT
1600x1200 res, highest graphics settings.

I have seen it as well, but w/o it paused as well. Haven't seen it since the new patch though.

Just to clarify that I'm patched up. New game tonight and saw it again when paused. I haven't seen it unpaused for the most part.

I'm sure the dev team knows bout this by now, but my empire tree in 1.02 has the same problem, and it gets annoying pretty quickly.
