Moral Decision
One of the things I dislike about the game is the moral questions mainly giving only evil decisions benefits.
Example 1
Upon scouting "X" it has been discovered that one of the galaxy’s greatest scientists…
Choices:
Good: None
Neutral: +1%
Evil: +2%
Please don’t focus on my numbers just the idea. In my opinion the options should be something like:
Good having a long term view; respects his privacy and gets +1% bonus to planet research.
Neutral is looking at the greater good and puts him in a research facility and gets 10% research bonus for the next 10 turns.
Evil looks for immediate results. They brain scan him and gets immediate 50% bonus to research this turn.
Example 2
Current:
"The country side of the planet "X" is populated by scattered, pre-industrial alien race…"
Good: -1% population bonus
Neutral: No bonus
Evil: +19% production
In my opinion the options should be something like:
Good: +5% population growth, +1% production, -5% Moral on planet
Neutral: +100 million population, +1% production for next 20 turns on planet
Evil: +250 million population, +19% production, +1% Production and -50 million population for next 5 turns on planet
Good has a long term view. They integrate the race thus giving them a bonus to population growth, a race bonus in production (research, economics, etc…whatever) but have to deal with inter-racial issues.
Neutral is the middle ground. Neutral subdues the race for quick population growth and gets the race benefit until they are absorbed into their society.
Evil is short term and quick growth. The local population is made into slave labor. They get the population, slave labor increase in production, and a race benefit until the race is burned out in 5 turns.
Again don’t focus on the numbers just the idea but the second example could be carried over to conquered planets. Good would integrating current population, gets a planet population growth bonus and race bonus at the cost of a moral decrease; also an espionage bonus against conquered race. Neutral would get % of population and race bonus on planet for a number of turns. Evil would get remaining population after conquest for a slave labor bonus and race bonus until population is burned out after a number of turns based on planet population. I’ll leave the second idea for later; I’d like to see the moral decision selection fixed.
