Two bugs in Dread Lords 1.59.081

No ship textures and random exiting

I just got my copy of the Gold Edition a few days ago. In the first game I started,I noticed that the ships had no textures. I simply ignored the bug and kept playing. However, once I got reasonably far in the scenario, the game simply exited to the desktop, and gave me a popup saying "GalCiv 2 has encountered a problem and needs to close..." This bug has occurred in every game I have played so far once I got to a reasonably advanced stage. Does anyone know what's happened?

Oh, and the "disable ship textures" box is off. All of the other textures are being drawn correctly.

Please go to C:\Program Files\Stardock\Totalgaming\GalCiv2 (or wherever you installed the game at), open the debug.err file you find there in notepad, and copy/paste the contents into a post here. If this is a DA report, you'll find the debug in C:\Program Files\Stardock\Totalgaming\GalCiv2\DarkAvatar instead. This will give us some technical information that can help troubleshoot your problem.

Be sure to copy the debug immediately after the error occurs; if you start the game again, the debug will be erased and recreated for the new session.

Note: If running on Vista with DA 1.6b2 or later, the debug.err is now located in My Documents\My Games\GC2DarkAvatar.

OK, here's the file. Sorry to be such a noob about this. This file contains only the not-drawing-textures bug, as I couldn't get the other one to happen. I also discovered that if I minimize the window, when I bring it back up the ships will draw textures briefly.

EDIT: I now have a short excerpt from the end of a log in which the game closed below this one. Since the log was quite long I will only post the final few lines.

The SiS chipset you use is designed for DirectX7 and as such cannot properly render the game's graphics (a DX9 chipset is the listed requirement). You might try the same workaround used for GeForce 4 MX users with the same problem described in reply #2 of this thread if you want to try and get textures working, but I can't guarantee you anything.
