Ya. Something needs to happen. Otherwise people will do what you said, and play 10 games and quit. Been bothered by this for a while because you could see many of the top10 were playing 1.11 beta and racking up points.

I have a lot of respect for the StarDock crew as they have actually made me feel like they care about their customers. Having said that I've started to notice that they are not answering as many questions that have been asked of them here lately. When I first came to the forums I had to look long and hard to find negative posts concerning the game, which is the reason I went out and bought it but now every other post seems to contain something negative.

The Metaverse is a great way to bring folks together as well as create some type of replay interest for the game. In theory that sounds great but when people start to realise that the more games they play the more their score drops they begin to give up. I do not expect the devs to release their scoring system but it seems that we have almost figured it out on our own and what we have found is that the system in place right now is extremly exploitable for the first few games, then not worth playing thereafter. What I would expect from the devs is some type of response of why they feel it is a fair system. As I mentioned, there in one simple exploit and the number 1 ranked character has proven it. This character has not posted a game in over a month but seems to have played the 10 game exploit to max out the score. The folks who are posting on a regular basis but are getting their scores cut by whatever margin this screwed up system is dividing their scores by makes one wonder why they should play metaverse games as they are never going to gain on the exploited number 1 spot.

Maybe the lack of a response is because the SD crew have a life and are trying to enjoy their summer. Maybe it is because they feel there is nothing wrong with their system no matter how much we point out otherwise. Who knows. I do know that have I pre-ordered the xp but if something isn't done about this scoring, or at least an explaination as to why they feel it is so great, I may have to cancel the order since I can't be certain I'll be playing GC2 when the XP comes out.

Relatively new player here. I was wondering about the ranking system. I've posted 2 scores and it simply summed them. Looks to me like it just adds a set of best scores. Where does division come into play?

CraigHB As soon as you play your 6th game, your total score for all 6 games will be divided by 2. Then when you play your 11th game all 11 are divided by 3.

But first, I don't want to complain - I generally adapt very well to any great game good devs make, such as our beloved Gal Civ 2 we all adore here. Kudos to all the Stardock personnel for their tremendous job. We never express it enough  

I personally don't really mind when the devs keep as a Secret d'Etat their scoring system; it's fueling some speculative debates I chime in occasionally. For instance, you enticed me guys to draw some basic though interesting stats out of my profile:

Avg MV score= 161 961. Total unfettered additions ( 13 games ) = 347 789. Global divider after 13 submissions = 2.15!

Before my latest submission, I had an average score of around 146 700, hence my 13th game shown a full score of 34 300. So 161 961 - 146 700 = 15 261, which represents 44.5 %of the latest entry. Hmmmm....still unconclusive I guess. We'll see later after some recalc?....

Or should I create a new identíty and post only 5 games each 100 000 point and vola I'm 3th again.

Yes, scores degrade by a certain percentage of their value each month (the exact amount I don't recall), until they are only valued at 65% of their face value in the total score calculation.
