Suggestion: Be able to bring topics to council

No taxations without???

Just a simple suggestion and that the main races have the ability to bring something to the attention of the council for a vote. Not only would this seem to make sense to me, but it would flow with other parts of the game such as when someone comes begging to you for help and your reply is "I'll take it to the council"....

Thoughts?

I second that suggestion. I also think it would bring lot of good things to the game, if one had the option to 'suggest' a vote about things.

Great idea but it would mean influence was more important... I'd make flipping planets a bit more difficult just to balance things out.

From the looks of it, Dark Avatar will bring better diplomacy & polic options to the table. Which is nice

I too would like to say "Hey, let's tax THOSE people! I don't like them. Make it so." But at present the best I can do is adding random votes into the .xml files.

Although it was good to pass one of my "just because I can" taxes on the Torians one game

Now that you brought taxation to the table I must ask. Old topic for sure but here it goes.

I have approval 60% and elections are next turn. If I lower my tax so that my approval is 90% how does the election react? Do the people remember past years terrible taxation or are they happy that turn before election taxes are dropped?

The people have memories like goldfish. A week is a long time in politics, too long to expect anyone to remember

Although looking at my election results, it might actually be average. I'll have to try having a naff rate then dropping taxes to see. 60% is probably enough to win anyway

That'd be fine by me, xpyre. At the moment, the UFP is basically just an obstacle. I only stay in it because of trade. it would really bring out the diplomacy side of things.
