Custom Race Usage

I was just curious to know if there was a way to use more than one custom race in a game. Is there a way to play as a custom race yourself and then, when selecting who you're facing off with, choose multiple OTHER custom races, or does GC2 limit the use of custom races to one a game? If it is limited to one per game, does anyone know if there are thoughts on adding this kind of feature in a later patch? The other day I had the idea to play a game with the United Federation of Planets and the Romulan Star Empire from Star Trek, the Galactic Empire and Rebel Alliance from Star Wars, and toss in the Irken Empire from Invader Zim just to see how it all worked out.

Scratch that question about whether or not you can do it now. I just noticed that you can't even select custom race on the screen where you choose your adversaries. The question still remains, though, of whether this is a patch item or will be a patch item in the future. If anyone has thoughts on the topic, please post them.

Probably not doable because aparently the AIs were tuned to work with their strenghts and weaknesses and precoded personalities

Yeah, good call on that one. Hadn't thought of that. It's easy to make the custom races when the user is the one in control, but adding a generic AI to apply to any custom races wouldn't do the game justice. Sounds like a giant mod-job to get something like that working. Oh well.

You can change the default races and in doing so you will create a defacto custom race.
