Update help!

I got the collectors edition delivered today and the serialnumber provided on the back of the manual won't let me access game updates, just the extra collectors edition material?
Am i missing another serial number?
I've tried it with this site and stardock central and still no joy... help anyone?

I just figuered it out, its cos i had the european edition! I've obtaiend a new serial. Sorry for the pointless post.
