which are you using to hide the taskbar? right click taskbar > properties? can you post a screenshot of the bad effect?

nView desktop manager I turned mine off a long while back by right clicking desktop > properties > settings > advanced > nvidia tab

FYI - bootskin is unsupported and has been unsupported going on 4yrs It was causing too much headache since it won't work for everyone due to too many differences in BIOS

have you tried refreshing the xml data? it's in the SDC tools, settings changing servers? look in same place you can also try: uncheck auto archive right click on the app line and manually archive it - if that works, then right click it again and choose the option to download the new straight to archive, then you can uninstall the old and use the archive function to restore the new archive
