The computer is now on Win11 24H2 build 26100.3194, and I am still just running Start11 for the Win10-style menu. I don't think I mentioned, but the external displays are two Dell U2422H monitors. I don't know whether it has something to do with how Start11 handles the mix of low- and high-density displays, or how it handles the two displays coming back from sleep, or some other conflict. I don't know whether you have been in
Something along the lines of ProcessExplorer, ProcessHacker or SystemInformer. They are all very similar programs. Your idea with PerfMon should be fine too if you sample every minute or so for 8-10h of graphing space.
Thank you! System Informer is the program I was trying to remember that had that style of graph for the process memory. I just couldn't remember the name. It's a little bit of a different view t
On a hunch I decided to change the power saving setting on my two monitors. To see if the potential memory leak was caused by the way the monitors were going in and out of sleep mode. I changed the power saving mode on the two monitors from "Normal Level" to "Deep Level". Then left the computer at the lock screen overnight. And this morning explorer was using under 200 MB. Memory use didn't increase overnight. Maybe that's the source of the problem? I'll continue to ex
Quoting Aragain Falls, reply 18 It feels like there is a memory leak going on while the computer is at the lock screen. Curious if anyone else has noticed this. Or is it just me? I tried it for fun, but really the opposite happened for me. <img src="
FancyZones may help you. FancyZones is part of Microsoft's PowerToys collection. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/powertoys/fancyzones In the FancyZones settings there is an option for "Move newly created windows to the current active monitor (Experimental)". That option will attempt to launch the application on the active monitor where the mouse cursor is. That should get the application to

Is there a memory leak in the new Start11 that causes explorer to gobble up memory when the computer is at the lock screen for several hours? Since installing Start11 2.5 I've noticed that explorer.exe has gobbled up memory when the computer has been left at the lock screen for several hours or overnight. I can't say that the recent Start11 update is at fault. Because several things in my setup changed two weeks ago at the same time I installed the Start11 2.5 update. I've also been i
I'm also happy to report that the new 2.51 update has fixed my freezing issues with MediaMonkey 2024. The only thing I've noticed, is that it can take a few seconds for MediaMonkey to hand taskbar focus back to the last app when I minimize it - but I haven't noticed this in normal use - so the issue is fixed for me. Thanks to the OP for reporting this, and for everyone's help on here. (edited for clarity).
Media Monkey has a special MicroPlayer that lives in the toolbar. The MicroPlayer is probably what is causing the problems. Media Monkey wiki page that mentions the MicroPlayer: https://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/WebHelp:Player#Introduction Disabling the MicroPlayer may be a workaround for now. I don't have Media Monkey installed. Can't experiment with it to see what's going on.
