Whenever Start8 finds a new update a pop-up window is shown which is very anonymous. A lot of my customers discards this windows since they think it's a virus or other malware trying to install a trojan on their computer. So please can you make it more apparent that the update is for Start8. An example of that message would be something like "There is an update for available for download for Start8 from Stardock. This update includes performance enhancements.. " yada-yada... A great thing
I have two computers. Both running Windows 8.1, 64-bit. They use the same custom image (the Windows 7 startbutton image from previous versions of Start8). On both computers they are named win8start_x1.png. The mouse over effect does work on the computer running Start8 v1.30, the computer running Start8 v1.30.1 does not display the mouse over effect but a darker tone square behind it. I'm running Windows 8.1, 64-bit, after upgrading to Start8 v1.30.1 the mouse-over effect on the start button was broken. It worked in v1.30. I've named the picture file "_x1.png" as described in an earlier post. Regarding the "Rounded Windows 7 - inspired by Windows 7". This theme looks different from the "Windows 7" theme in Start8 v1.20 before I updated Windows 8 to 8.1 and installed v1.30 / v1.30.1. 1. I am still seeing the "Camera", "Computer Settings", "Photos", "Skydirve" and "Store" apps in the Windows 7 start menu even though I've opted to hide all Windows 8 apps. 2. The color of the Start8 start menu doesn't automatically change with the theme color anymore. I have to restart the computer to make it change. I'm running Windows 8.1, 64-bit
