First off thanks so much to the team for making Start8 and ModernMix. Without them Windows 8 and 8.1 are worthless even on a tablet. Microsoft pitches that their tablets are for creation also instead of just consumption but then left us high and dry for when we want to work on the Desktop for real programs. I agree. As a programmer it's hard to imagine how Microsoft screwed this up so baad. While the new Windows 8 Start Menu might be nice for tablet users or those with just a couple programs I have 130+ items on my Windows 7 start menu. I can find and start any program significantly faster and with fewer mouse clicks and movements than in Windows 8. In Windows 8 they are basically forcing us to clutter up the desktop with icons.
