I know you are all waiting breadthlessly for the this announcement (tongue in cheek) but I did buy Elemental. I apologize for my excessive angst in coming to this decision. However, just to hedge my bets, I also bought Age of Wonders Shadow Magic and Disciples II: Dark Phophecy Gold editon (has two mods in it). I tried each game out for about 4 hours apiece initially. Based on this very scientific testing procedure (tongue in cheek, again). Elemental ranked by far the highest followed

Interesting about Distant Worlds, I did not buy it, but came to the conclusion (after some research) that life was too short to help some Euros rewrite their program and, apparently, I have dodged a bullet. However, there is one important difference here; there were other 4x space strategy games available. Besides if it didn't come up to the level of GalCic 2 why bother. I have sent several emails on this subjects to customer services and never received a reply. I also left

I recently reloaded GalCiv2 on to my system running windows 7 professional 64 bit. The game installed and most of the functions operate correctly except for the images on the star map. Instead of the well-done icons representing planets and ships I only get small dark blue symbols for the ships which are very rough interpretations of the actual icon and small white circles for the planets (the more filled in the circle the better the quality of the planet). They are difficult to pick up
