No software developer could reasonably be expected to hold back it's software just for a handfull of people who are stuck with IE6. IE6 is seriously flawed. If you were to give a reason other than the front-end experience for updating to IE7, or IE8, then closing the security loopholes created by IE6 would be it. Software development must move forwards.
And I agree with that. I'm not a Windows developer so I don't know exactly w
In addition anyone in a corporate environment who cannot update IE because of the Company's IT policy will be in violation of that same policy by installing other software (like Fences).
Incorrect. There are companies with IT policies specifically for blocking IE updates because of incompatibility with important legacy web applications. (Obviously, the biggest problem why IE6 lives on.) Installing other programs like Fence

Well, a crack can remove the expiration and the expired popup. Just because it's free doesn't mean you can't alter it. If I could use the (pre-impulse) beta without the annoying popup, I would. Think before speaking. Stupid.

It's sad to say, but I'm going to soon look for a cracked version of Fences beta already. Fences beta was working great for me and I liked it a lot before this whole Impulse + IE7 issue happened. If it's not out there, I hope someone makes one. Why would Stardock care. It's FREE and they could care less about their users for free software. [e digicons]O:)[/e]

I think there's a conspiracy that Stardock is receiving a boatload of money from Microsoft for making us use IE7+ to install Impulse. [e digicons]:|[/e]
The whole IE7 thing is totally wrong. As a developer, I have to maintain IE6 because most of our web traffic is still IE6.
I'm in the exact same boat and totally agree with you. I need to keep IE6 for work reasons. I can upgrade, but it'll make my web development work harder if I have to keep firing up Virtual PC or something to check for IE6, which I have to do very often. I don't use IE6 for web browsing and don't give a
I think his point was that there isn't anything as good. Fences is worth Impulse
Exactly. And that's why people will keep commenting on this issue. Great products comes with great responsibility. But for me personally, it's not Impluse. I understand if Stardock uses it's own app manager. Google does it. Adobe does it. Apple does it. It's the IE7 requirement that's the problem. That is completely unnecessary.

Could you provide us with alternatives for Fences that's just as good? And free, perhaps?

I agree with this whole problem of having to install IE7 for Impulse to install Fences. I'm a Web Developer and I keep IE6 locally for a reason. And don't tell me to use Virtual PC. Fences is a really great program and it's sad to see it lead down this path. I don't mind needing Impulse but needing IE7 for a totally non-browser related program is dumb. I hope the voices are heard during this beta, and that Impulse supports other browsers or let Fences install using other more common i
