ObjectDock Plus is a main staple on my 2 machines. Running it on W7 Pro x64 with no issues (except for the known start menu/sys tray issues). Works wonderfully.
You mean to tell me that you cannot reproduce any of the bugs that are mentioned in the bugs' thread?

A new version will be released, no doubt there. When it will be released? Now that's a question on everyone's lips. It hasn't been released in the past 2 & 1/2 years, it won't be released in time for Christmas like I've predicted 4 months ago and beyond that it's anyone's guess. Customers' frustrations are falling on deaf ears at Stardock :(
Somehow ObjectDock Plus changed the "last updated"-date to 11/11 today though... With nothing really updated.
Perhaps they updated the build that sits on Impulse to include the correct Weather docklet, instead of users having download a fixed one separately. That's just a speculation though. There's no official changelog (version history) beyond the 1.90 release. [quote who="Gargabee" reply="11" id="2441432"

OK, let's not get sidetracked here ;) As you've said, Bitdefender is now Win 7 compatible, which is another example of a company who updated their software ahead of Stardock. Also, in not so many words, you suggested that I stop using OD+ on my Win 7 system. That was my interpretation and I'm sceptical if that's the message that you should be sending. Do you use OD+ on your Win 7 PC? What is there to inspire customer confidence in Stardock?

89 Replies 185,358 Views

Yes, the steps that you, Jafo, describe are almost correct. Before moving to Win 7, I also used OD+ on Vista for which OD is claimed to be ready. Yet I experienced and reported bugs that to this day have not been resolved. What is supposed to happen in this type of situation? Re: Bitdefender, perhaps you should switch to Norton. I had NIS 09 and got a free upgrade to NIS 2010, which I took upon, but 2009 users got updates to make their version compatible with Windows 7 if they did not

Have you had look in the bugs thread? You don't get the issues that I've reported: after hibernation? Start menu? "Recent Places" when browsing for a replacement icon? Pinned to Taskbar items is

No, I would not [personally] like for you to rattle them off. Then again, they don't appear in the top of Stardock's most popular software, like OD does -- at no. 5. It's a shame that this matter is outside of your influence, but perhaps you can get the attention of people who are the policy-makers and point them to this thread/forum (if they aren't aware already)? Thanks. Sure, you're right that if end users use a proggy within an OS for which said proggy wasn't developed then they s

I am not complaining about something I haven't tried yet. I am complaining about bugs in Win 7 32-bit. They exist, just look at the bugs thread here. I am also complaining about something that OD+ doesn't officially have, and that's 64-bit compatibility. Stardock haven't announced that it's fully 64-bit compatible and that is one my main gripes.
That doesn't mean OD currently is 64bit compatible though, because it isn't, and Stardock doesn't claim it is either.
That's the problem. Win XP has 64-bit version, Vista has a 64-bit edition and Win 7 has 64-bit flavour too. Yet Stardock hasn't made OD 64-bit compatible and it's getting long in the tooth.

Once again, it's a workaround, it's not a solution -- the fact remains that 32-bit OD can't access 64-bit programs, that's what SD need to be working on.
