I am having the same problem. OD is not so sluggish but firefox and the rest of windows feels sluggish. Redraws are slow. If I kill OD, everything is fine. Do you have an ATI card? My problem started after upgrading to the latest catalyst drivers. It seems OD was fine with my old 5.1 catalyst, but something broke with the new catalyst.
