Quoting Frogboy, reply 6 I can honestly say I think about Elemental every day. [e digicons]:)[/e] Richard Garriott, of Ultima fame, wants to know when we're doing more too. We have plans and one of those plans is to actually try to release Elemental
Okay, I understand. Thanks for the reply. I hope you guys have another game like Sins coming soon! I would definitely purchase it.
It's definitely a lot more likely. I type this to you on my Mac Air M1.
lord999 is now my lord. That's some amazing stuff there. At one point in development, I suggested to the team that they should play Pirates which had a reputation type system. One thing I can promise you: The gameplay of our future games is going to be largely in Lua so people will be able to go nuts.
Well I think that forums are superior. Discord has a section for bug reports. There’s no reason we couldn’t have that hear, we just don’t. A section to explain the what updates do like discord would be nice. A section for known bugs would be nice. This would help. Make it easier to make a avatar. the forums have slowed down. More posts from your employees.
We do have a forum bug re
Ok. Unfortunately that wont help FELH anymore then...
I think most people care about the general LH design more than what engine it uses. It would be easier to port LH to a new engine than it would be to retrofit the old LH engine. The one thing that LH (and Sorcerer King) really did particularly well that our new engine lacks are the tooltips. We call them "Chicks" (named after game reviewer
Thanks guys. I feel like GC4 will get to start on a really good foundation.
Once we finish the next version of DeskScpaes you'll get to see a lot of what we have in mind in terms of UI design for managing WindowBlinds skins. My personal wishlist heavily focuses on being able to just use the client skinning features. :)
I'm pointing Derek over to this thread as he's the one in charge of the new GalCiv work. Personally, I'm all about pacing and communicating complex ideas to the player. The better we get at communicating complicated things, the more complicated we can make the game. And I mean complicated in the good sense in terms of having a lot more depth to the experience.
So I realize the logistics of why StarDock sold Impulse... but I've always felt that Impulse was leagues ahead of Steam in functionality.. even now. SOOOOooo when are you building your Stardockian social network? I'm game.
I'd do it if we had sufficient funding from partners. But it's too risky to do on ones own. And there is the lesson of Impulse: We didn't have the capital to compete
Ray Tracing in a space game would be kind of a waste. It does best when there's something to reflect off of (water is a great example) that shows what it is reflecting.
Galactic Civilizations II (not III) was released a long time ago. Since then, most of the people who worked on the game have remained at Stardock but not everyone. However, over the past year or so, we've been lucky enough to recruit and or contract back some of the original members to return working on new Galactic Civilizations efforts.
WindowBlinds can't hose your setup. It's a skinning app, it doesn't replace or alter system files. What you've probably seen are cases where people have not rebooted in a long time and some Windows update was not compatible and then when they reboot after installing WindowBlinds they assume WindowBlinds was the cause.
There are subreddits I've been in where you get to know the regulars pretty well, but the examples I can think of were ones that moved from another forum to reddit. I only ever visit about 3 subreddits, and Discord is actually the social site I interact with most. I rarely use twitter, and Facebook is something I drop by once every 2 weeks to see what my family is up to... I'm not sure what would make me browse forums directly, I ac
So I got the new MacBook Air M1. I have to say, it's pretty amazing. It's, by far, the fastest laptop I've ever used in terms of how it feels to use. This is likely a combination of the OS (MacOS tends just feel more responsive than Windows) and the phenomenal performance of the M1. Anyone else pick this up yet?
Stay safe and stay healthy my friends!
Pretty neat. My mom has been thinking of getting one of these
That is pretty odd. I’ll take a look.
More screenshots!
Ok. Here's my home office: This is my work from home office. My desk. This is for doing calls and such. I don’t really spend much time here. <a href="https://draginol.stardock.net/images2018/
WindowBlinds is definitely not going away any time soon. As Neil explained, the biggest obstacles we have faced in the past several years are: Apps that (wrongly) try to skin their own title bars to look like the OS rather than using what's built into the OS. Apps that are trying to block external DLLs from hooking onto their process. Hopefully we can work with the major parties to solve this as wblind.dll is no different than say uxtheme.dll
This past year we've been recruiting developers to begin doing some major updates to Object Desktop over the next year. First, I'm going to post what our thoughts are on what to focus on but then we want to hear what you would like to see updated. As always, our choices are determined b
I think you have Stardock mixed up with Starforce. We are pretty well known as being against copy protection on games. We certainly don’t bundle other tasks with our games.
I love my Surface Pro. It doesn't always love me. This Summer, a firmware update caused the keyboard cover connector to not work anymore which forced me to use the Surface truly as a tablet. It wasn't...a good experience. While I wasn't a fan of Windows 8, it was a pretty decent touch OS. Windows 10...not so much. A big part of the reason Windows 10 isn't good for touch is that it doesn't use the screen edges well. Windows 10, by default, has thes
