ObjectDock sluggish

Hey, I have read the other threads about the problems with Objectdock, but I don't find any reason for mine.. First of all my system is:

Amd 3500+ , 2 gig ram , x800pro , 120gb hdd ..

I have it all up to dated, mobos , graphics , sound drivers , everything... defragged disk , no spyware nothing.. everything is extremely well tweaked, yesterday I bought objectdock and I created 2 docks, one with all my games and apps and the other with my computer, recycle and systray . The 1st dock ran fine.. I have about 30 icons in there, so I used my own icons downloaded from here, and it still ran fine, shut down computer, wake up this morning and it's now sluggish when you hover your mouse on the middle of the icons, I'm not using any docklets, in fact I removed all of them and sticked with winamp and MSN ( although not using MSN docklet), it's on autohide option, and it gets really slugish, this is obviously not my computer problem, but one note side, I'm running windowblinds 5 and I read somewhere that alpha-blended themes could sluggish it, and I was using some vista theme with glass effect, so I reverted to the vista theme without the glass effect, and it's a no go...

I'm sorry for the long read, but anyways hope someone can help me, thanks in advance. Edit: btw, the other dock with systray and 2 folders and my computer , doesn't sluggish at all

Well, just solved the problem, downloaded the most recent build, and it fixed it, now it runs as smooth as butter

Sorry to revive this, but actually installing the latest build did not help at all, when installed it did helped, but after shutdown, and today I turn on the computer and it's sluggish again, firefox feels reaaaally slow, what the hell is this ? I paid for this product and feeling that it cannot be used or that it has problems... because I know that it's not my computer who is causing this..

I am having the same problem. OD is not so sluggish but firefox and the rest of windows feels sluggish. Redraws are slow. If I kill OD, everything is fine.

Do you have an ATI card? My problem started after upgrading to the latest catalyst drivers. It seems OD was fine with my old 5.1 catalyst, but something broke with the new catalyst.

This is exactly the reason I have NOT bought this program yet... I, being a programmer, don't think this is a well enough built program. Sure, it looks nice, functions nice (a few bugs here and there), but it's not anywhere near finished in terms of speed. It's just too slow, even on my PC (3.8 GHz Pentium 4, 2 GB RAM, 6800 GT 256 RAM). For a simple application that shows me my running tasks and what is essentially, nothing but shortcuts with a pretty face, there is no excuse but sloppy programming on why this isn't running smoothly. There have been great leaps and bounds crossed here Stardock from your earlier builds... keep working on it and release something that everyone will WANT to buy.

On my ATI card I get the same effects. Minimizing apps lags and Firefox and Thunderbird becomes slow at responding. This only happends on my system with ATI, not on my slower laptop system with nVidia.
I wonder is there's something in what esperdiv says, because I imageine that I didn't have these problems before.
In this thread https://www.wincustomize.com/articles.aspx?SID=1&AID=89879&c=1 there's quite a few people with ATI that has the same issues. What's odd is that someone said it went away when they connected a second monitor. I thought that sounded odd, but I borrowed a monitor from one of my housemates and the result was that all the lag went away when I was using two monitors. It's a very odd issue.

Another alternative is to 'reduce' timings and delays for your 'auto-hide' (drawer) tabs to improve performance:

Save the theme 'Theme' file...  (ex: ObjectDock\Themes\myTheme.ini)
Modify 'myTheme.ini' as follows:

ADD: 'BackgroundTransparency=255'  to turn OFF transparancy (0=Clear, 255=Opaque)
into the section(s)
    [appearance1]     (normal dock)
    OR
    [settingsX-TabX]  (tab'd dock)

Change the following items in [SettingsX] for faster auto-hide (drawer) performance:
activationdelay=0     (0=instant, 20=slow)
drawerOpenDelay=0  (-1=Mouse Click Req'd, 0=Fast, 20=Slow)
drawerOpenAnimationSpeed=5  (0=Instant, 5=fast, 20=Slow)

Re-Load the modified theme.
