I got a question about awards...

ok i browse through a lot of peoples websites and see some with awards. Some of the awards are different types like for downloads, comments, etc...

But can somebody tell me what each award means? i want to know every single award if possible please?

Also i have an award that stands for top #50 article points and i was wondering (Since soon i'm not going to be at Wincustomize for a while) if people make the top #50 article points, will mines go away?

I would not wish that age on any person. So far, 40 has been the best age, at least until I turn 41

I'm with SD on that one. I wouldn't even want to be 30 again... not that there's anything to worry about

Whenever you make a new thread, if you check the 'also post this as an article' box, eventually you will hit the top 50... even though you don't deserve to be there

p.s. 14 is a very annoying age (to some of us)

do you even know when's my birthday? ...besides even if i told all of you guys that it was my birthday in a post...all of you guys will complain.

I think that according to what most of you wrote....i think i should stop being at Wincustomize until i'm 15 or older.

Bash, they are just trying to slow you down. Relax. At 14 you expect instant gratification. You ain't gonna get that around here.

I'm 15. Does this mean that everyone must worship me now?

Bash, my young apprentice, , age doesn't matter here at all. For me, it is normal to seek too much attention because at your age, that is what most of you do. I know, because i have been there (and most of the people here, too ). Just think of it this way. Wincustomize is a community that will help speed up your growth: both mentally and emotionally. Don't get insulted about the comments you receive. Think more positively and take everything as a challenge. Instead of arguing your case and emphasizing your young age at every ocassion, take these comments as encouragements, to prove that even at a very fresh age, you can do better and more. Lastly, slow down a little. You seem to be in a hurry all the time....

Hi Bash, you might have to decide how important it is for you to get the 'article'-award. Announcing that the only reason you post that much, is because you are after the award does not really go down well with the community. It basically says; "I don't post because I want to be a respected member of the community but because I am selfish and want to have my name on that top-contributor list". We all know that is not what you want and that you want to be accepted here so we try to help you by nudging you a little and pointing these errors out.

There are some basic rules that will help you becoming a respected member of the community:

-as mentioned before; don't announce that you are after an award. And even if you don't announce it; we are not stupid and realise very quickly what's going on (I believe a couple of people pointed this out in some of your previous threads). Don't stop posting. Your enthusiasm and your energy bring a fresh breeze to this board, but stop posting for the sake of posting. The same goes also for posing skins and making comments (Note, I don't say that you do those two things, I just wanted to mention it here)

-use proper grammar and spelling in your posts. A lot of members (including me) are from non-English speaking background. Also, l33t is considered childish and totally not cool (this is the case for all forums on the web where adults are participating).

-Never ever use your age as an excuse. You have to understand that you are neither the first nor the only 14 year old who has ever annoyed us . Just slow down a bit and listen to what people have to say to you in your threads and try to take it on.

Last, I wanted to say that every 3 months or so, someone like you comes along. Some of them get frustrated by our criticism and leave, others adjust their behaviour and stay. The ones that took on our suggestions and stayed have since become respectable members in this community. As I mentioned initially; you might have to decide how important it is for you to get a (rather meaningless) award.

Now don't be intimidated by me or the others and keep on being yourself. Each and everyone of us has been a pesky, selfish teenager at a certain time, but we all had to learn how to best fit in with a new group. You would be surprised at how many members of this community started out the exact same way as you.
