If you haven't already seen it, check out Synergy. It works with OSX and Windows (together!), has clipboard support, and you can connect as many computers as you want! Best of all, its free and open source, and appears to be getting some actual developer attention.

A little bump, but..
I now have a mac (not intel) and I really need this too.

Are there any other alternatives that I can use while I wait for OS X Multiplicity?

You could take a look at Synergy, it's open source and works with *nix, Win, and Mac.

I use Synergy on Linux, Windows XP and Vista, and honestly it's not too bad, but I'll drop it as soon as I can if there's a Linux version of Multiplicity. There are just so many little conveniences that make Multiplicity a nicer product to use - like it doesn't stop working every time there's an privilege bump request on Vista, for example.

Sadly Synergy has not been officially updated in a very, very long time. It is a miracle that it works with Vista at all I'd say.

I don't really know how big of a company Stardock is, or how many devs there are to work on all the projects, but if the OSX version was under internal beta testing two years ago, shouldn't it be out by now?

This reminds me of waiting for the Mac version of Ventrilo. By the time they finally released it, I didn't even use Macs anymore.

It's a question of both types of MACs you can get as well as leopard coming out as well as updating for Vista. Basically 9000 things pilled on and we are plowing along with all the changes we can make. Quality will have to come first. My apologies for the wait.

Any updates at all on this? Any?

Nothing yet. Trust me once this is set it will be screamed from the roof tops.

That’s cute. What is that on the left though? A commodore 64 with vista loaded on it? I mean look at the key board. If there was sound you know we would be hearing the Ka-Ting! of each key.

Still waiting! Still nothing!

I'd pretty much forgotten all about Multiplicity. I purchased the pro version coming on 3 years ago, basically because OS X support was promised as "coming soon". I do development on windows / mac, and I have both machines sitting next to each other.

As a developer, I can understand the difficulties you must have encountered transitioning to xcode and working on getting a universal build done. I hope you get time to complete this task, until then I'll have to forget about this app and check back in another 6 months to a year :(

Testing a build currently. Nothing available for beta yet. I won't say how soon to create hopes but it does exsist.

It's been 6 weeks since you were testing a build. Any updates on your progress?

Thanks!

I can't find that model that supports OS X anywhere :P

Sorry we are launching some major software pushes today and next week. No news yet about beta tests for the update.

All you offer us are lame excuses. You're always busy doing something else - moving office; working on other "more important" software releases; transitioning to new OSes, platforms etc etc.

When the OS X version of Multiplicity was announced, Vista wasn't even in beta, Panther was the current Mac OS and Apple had just announced they were migrating their hardware to the Intel processor.

I was happy to help with the explanative on your post there.

Stardock does not want to delay the release of the OSX update, but for many reasons we have had to. We have a responsibility to our current software and we have to prioritize. We are a PC software company after all. I really am sorry that it is an inconvenience at this time but it isn't delayed out of laziness, but simply priority. We still intend to deliver on the product but a unknown amount of time could be needed. For now all we can do is continue to work on it until it is ready for beta release.

Please know that it has to work with all clients and as soon as even one changes the whole thing has to be updated.

I'm sorry that these explanations are not enough but they are the truth and all I can provide until a build becomes available to the public.

Seabass:

Thanks for your information updates. As you can tell me and many other Mac users are impatiently awaiting the release of the OS X version. I use both Windows and Mac on daily basis and would LOVE to ditch my extra keyboard and mouse and bring both platforms together via Multiplicity. It is a GREAT product on the Windows platform, and I'm glad to hear Stardock making progress on the OS X version.

I understand your comment regarding you are a PC software company, but Mac OS X is not going away and is getting more and more users switching to it every day! So please try to keep an open mind that more Macs are used in offices across the country than ever before.

One more thing...did you happen to notice the posting numbers for BOTH OS X Multiplicity categories? They have more posts in them compared to any other one in this forum. So if there is this kind of a buzz about the product BEFORE it is even in beta, imagine what it will be like once it is actually released! Maybe then you will change your mind-set about being a PC-only software company!!

Rusty-Dog. You might find this odd, but I too am a Mac user. It is one of the reasons I have been so active in this thread. What I have said really is the case. I have only been a bit confusing on the matter because I am trying to be diplomatic, as every good company rep should be. My last statement wasn't even to deflect attack in anyway, it was a simple and honest telling of the facts to keep you all in the loop.

What I would really like to tell you is that we have so much going on it would blow your head to hear it all. Thanks to the NDA that won't ever be possible until the higher ups say it is ok, or we actually launch what I am referring too. Suffice to say it is a really big deal and I am very excited about all of it.

Stardock has no interest in alienating the MAC users by delaying this release. It would be a large boon to update the MAC portion as soon as possible. However the developer on Mutli is the developer on several projects like WindowBlinds for one of many examples. That software is being used in multiple software packages and business deals. The kind that reach millions and millions of users. You, everyone else here, and myself only make up 7% of North America as MAC users. We as a company have a very broad responsibility to all our customers here and world wide. We intend to do the very best that we can.

I really am sorry for the trouble in this matter. I could give countless apology speeches on the matter, and so far I have, but it won't make it come any quicker. The developers and management are aware of the demand and read these forums. No one is ignoring this request. I make remarks here to remind people that we are not ignoring this. We are just swamped and in a moment of extreme growth. Please be patient.

I can't believe what I'm reading. If management is aware of the demand and reading this forum then all I've got to say is you need new management because management is obviously not managing!!!

Do you realise that in a little over one month this thread will be THREE YEARS OLD!! In that time we've heard everything from "we're beta testing" to "we're moving" to "we're busy"! That's three years of patient customers asking for more information only to be told to be more patient.

Why don't just cut the crap and either release a timeframe or admit that it's vapourware?
