Hmm, maybe this has something to do with the fact that you actually had changed the icon for it. Have you tried to reset the image for this icon?

It seems that OD has saved the settings for your dock (including this tray icon with its new image) and tries to reload it every-time it shows up. Maybe you can save your OD-Theme with the reset image and OD will not attempt to create it the next time it starts up?

ObjectDock Plus is great, but missing the following important UI features in the tabbed dock:

1. Mouse over activation, should bring up the tab which you hovered over

(so that only one click is needed to activate an application, a delay maybe needed if dock isn't visible)

2. Placement of 'Dock Entries' should have other options, apart from align left

(you want to be able to place icons which you use most often near where the tab is)

also, not so important - but the normal dock, it should be possible to use hotspot activation when autohide is used - as if the dock width changes (ie. when using system tray/running tasks)- it's impossible to know where to throw your mouse.

Apart from that, great app!

I just downloaded the new OD+....should I install it right over the current one (in Program Files/Stardock/Object Dock directory), or do I need to uninstall first? I tried to update/install it through SDC, but that only created a new directory (Program Files/Object Dock) where I had two installations of it.

edit: never mind...I closed OD+ then just installed the new one right over it...it worked.

ama02...I would uninstall the net version, backup any backgrounds, images, and themes first, and then install through SDC. That way any future updates will go to the correct folder.

Doh! just finished reading your post...nevermind

OD is really what I have been looking for But....everytime my PC boots up, it adds another question mark on the right side. Those cannot be dragged off or deleted. When i right click them a fly out menue with Magnification,Always on top, position on screen etc etc until quit appears. Obvious a bit annoying. Would be great if you can help to remove it (looks like it does when you create a new entry..only I didn't)

Are you missing one of your shortcuts when that happens? Which version are you using? Older versions of OD seemed to have suffered from Altzheimers and sometimes shortcut would replaced by the 'question mark'. I would try and upgrade your version of OD.

Nope..no shortcuts missing and I downloaded it 2 days ago, so I guess I have the latest version. Well it kinda got solved by dragging the offendong questionmarks away from the dock where they go "pooof" and never re-appeared.

Unzip the downloaded file and move the resulting folder into your ObjectDock\Docklets folder.

To add an installed docklet either right-click on your dock > Add Entry > Choose one of the listed docklets from the menu, or Click on 'Configure Dock' > Docklets > choose one of the docklets from the list > 'add this docklet to my dock'.

ObjectDock 1.3 Bugs:

Randomly crashes every once in a while, usually without an error message (no docklets in use, 2GB RAM, 3GHz Pentium 4, 128MB graphics -- this occurs on both my Alienware and my Dell)
Sometimes an icon needs to be clicked several times before initiating a link

ObjectDock 1.x Desired Features:

Ability to add space (in pixels) between icons (without having to manually edit icons)
Ability to adjust the space on either side of a separator

Thanks!

Hi, quick question. I have ObjectDock Plus, and by default, adding icons to tabs adds just the icon... just for fun I fiddle around with viewing them in different ways (right click > view > Names / Small Icons / Large Icons). Well, when I viewed as "Names," all of the icons had text below them showing the the name of the shortcut.

The problem is, I now cannot make that go away. The text is always there now, even when I switch to different view modes. Is there an easy way to reset this so I don't have to see the text all the time now?

Thanks.

I just recently purchased Objectdock Plus. I have registered my account, and recieved my serial number, but my Object Dock hasn't changed. Am I meant to receive a disc in the post or am I just doing it wrong?

You should have received a download link in the e-mail along with your registration number.  You would need to install ObjectDock Plus.

You can also install through Stardock Central.  This article gives more details on how to do that.

Let us konw if you are able to get it installed.

Yeah I did get the download link and the serial number, I also downloaded Stardock Central. The problems are; a) After I downloaded and installed Objectdock Plus I opened it but all that happened was the config settings for my freeware version of Objectdock popped up. b) I can't find Objectdock Plus to download within Stardock Central.

You should first uninstall the freeware version of Object Dock, then try re-installing OD Plus.

I got it! I found it under miscellaneous in Stardock Central. Thanks for the help. Although I do have one other question, is there a way to change the images of the system tray icons?

s there a way to change the images of the system tray icons?

Right click on one and hold it until the dialog comes up.

Okay.
How can I set up my objectdock, so that when I click on a docklet (i.e. Firefox) it will open the program, and if I click it while the program is open, it brings the open program to the front of all other windows?

Please help.
Love objectdock besides this anomaly.

Hi,

I have a seriously annoying problem on my hands. No matter what I seem to try, I can't drag and drop anything onto the docks - whatever I'm dragging turns into a little no-entry sign, but I CAN drag and drop them OFF the docks. ...Which takes me a step backward if anything. Has this issue come up before, and if so, how on earth do I fix this?

I'm running Vista x86 Ultimate, and I have objectdock plus.

You're talking about a shortcut... Docklets are mini-applications that run on the dock.

Open an ObjectDock Properties dialog > Miscellaneous Options > General Miscellaneous Options > "When shortcut is run, if program is already running bring it to the foreground only".

Don't know if this will help, but try right clicking the dock, and toggling the "Lock Dragging" option.

If what you are dragging "turns" into a plus sign it just means that you have more items that fit on your dock.
Either click on teh plus to go to that "screen" on teh dock or resize your dock to be bigger. (Grab a side and drag it bigger)
