Desktop turns black after installing new version.

Working with Fences for many years now. But today, after installing the new version and restarting the PC, the desktop background turns black. The fences are there but against a black background nearly unvisible.
Also my background pictures are gone. Windows 11 Pro. Build 10.0.26100

What to do? How can I go back to the previous version?

 

Action already taken:

Restarted twice

License renewed.

Nothing helps.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know more on your issue.

  1. Windows 11 full version and OS Build number. Please use Winver.exe.
  2. Fences full version numbers.
  3. Post some screenshot or video showing the issue so we understand better.
  4. Do you have Wallpaper Engine running in your system.

Hi, 

I'm in the same situation.

I had Fences v.5 and it was working flawlessly, but when I installed the new version all my folders and files disappeared from my custom desktop (when browsing into pc folders I can find my desktop files/doc), I can't even uninstall it because there's no option for that in my windows apps list (I'm using Windows 11 Home 24H2, build 26100.3775). 

What do I do now?

I managed to restart my laptop in safe mode, so I completely removed Fence 6. Then I proceeded to install Fence 5 v.5.89. The previous desktop configuration came back, but without folders and all the Fence specific features. It looked like all th icons were in the right place but without Fence being installed. I tried to open the Fence settings but I've got an error message telling me that I had to restart the system. Done it, but nothing changed, so I'm back at beginning of the issue. The wallpaper engine I use is Wallpaper Engine (Steam) Build 2.6.102.

Please reinstall Fences 6 and reboot immediately after installation is done, to make sure everything get replace properly. Also disable Wallpaper Engine and see if the issue still appear.
