I was happy to see renewed love for Object Dock again, and gave it another try on my laptop. I really want to like this app, but there are some things that don't quite click yet. They might just be limitations with Windows itself, and not just this app.
I'm a developer and usually have 2 or 3 instances of Visual Studio running at all times. I see a single icon indicating that it is running, but I can't choose which one to select without the taskbar showing. It would be nice if it showed the icon multiple times with a small portion of the window title so I can see which one I'm selecting.
The other big issue for me (and I had this same problem with Winstep dock), was that there is no way to activate the notifications panel, or the "action center". Fortunately my laptop has buttons for some of these things, but it's a real challenge when I need to get to my wifi settings, etc. The same is true of other task-bar icons... many apps like to minimize there and I can't get to them with the taskbar hidden. I know some of this is just lazyness on my part, I could get used to the keyboard shortcuts Win-N & Win-A if I set my mind to it, but it would be nice to have visual access to it as well.
As far as bugs, It doesn't appear the "Aero previews" is working. I also thought there would be a way to add sub-docks, but maybe I'm just imagining that. Finally, the dock doesn't seem to go to the bottom edge when I have the taskbar hidden (on my dual monitor desktop).
Anyway, I hope this product has much success with less demanding users, because it looks great and runs smoothly.
