Make Start11 look & search more similar to the original menu start

Basically:

- vertical list instead of horizontal icons (with "best match" singled out)

- accent color on the left flagging the search result

- bold letters based on what you typed ("Discord")

- preview with options on the right

- stronger opacity

- darker highlighting

If you like the way Windows 11 search looks, why not turn off "Use Start11 search in the Start11 start menu."

Windows 10 v22H2

issue #1 Start Menu > Configuration (shortcuts list > Recent Items) Folders and non-document files keep showing on the list

issue #2 Start Menu > Configuration (Advanced > Show recent documents) It is not refreshing to show files I opened until I switch to a different Windows Style in Start11 or until I delete something in the Recent Items

After I opened image01.jpg, nothing showed up in the recent documents

There is still an issue with the hidden taskbar showing itself early. It's not like it was a few versions ago, though. This is on my primary monitor, and it's not every time. It's very sporadic. This has done it on 2.02 and 2.03 for me. Windows 11 Pro 23H2 22631.2715. If I try to click a tab or something else quick enough it'll activate whatever is in that spot on the taskbar, even before the taskbar itself has actually popped up and is visible. Very random when it happens though. 

Using top taskbar, rounded corners, auto hide enabled in start11 and disabled in windows. Pretty sure it behaves the same regardless of where the taskbar is or what it looks like.

Edit to add: It doesn't actually pop itself back up automatically when it does this. It's fully there already, just invisible. Once I actually click the mouse it appears. In my youtube link below I tried to click to close the browser tab, but it popped open the taskbar. It didn't activate any app this time because it didn't happen to be over a pin. If I don't click, I can actually see the outlines of the pins appear as I move my mouse over them.

I use the advanced taskbar with never combine while showing all buttons and often when my taskbar shrinks due to me closing a window (explorer for example) about 2-3 system tray icons are hidden for about a second before reappearing.

• Close a window (for example explorer window) to make the taskbar shrink. Sometimes moving the window to a second monitor before closing is needed to trigger the hidden system tray icons.

•  See that half of the controller icon in the system tray is hidden, along with 2 other icons that normally are to the left of it.

  

Any idea what causes this? It is very frustrating as it happens a ton of times. If you need more info please feel free to ask for it.

Just came back from being out of town for a few days.  Start11 doesnt seem to be working at all now.  Im on 2.03, but my start menu is windows 11 (not what i picked) and the start menu icon is wrong, and many things.  I can START start11 and the config comes up and i can change the settings but none of them work.

Am I missing something?

Ive done the reboot, and i downloaded the latest update and installed it trying to fix the issue.  So i should uninstall what i just installed and reinstall it?

Do you have explorerpatcher installed by any chance?

1. Windows 10/11 full version number. Use Winver.exe
2. Does the issue appear on any other Start11 V2 style?

Hello everyone!

New start menu styles are gorgeous but I think there is way too much space between groups, tabs, icons and text.

Just look at my start menu:

Too annoying for me, I need to customize the space between items.

I thought it was the Icon size, but look at this XDXDXD (Very funny):

It would be very nice to customize the space between items so start menu can fit them well.

OMG, I didn't know that was even possible, now the thing is, I have the lock menu option enabled and still I can resize the start menu, is there a way to lock the resize?
