Great. So, we have to disable a critical component of the nVidia driver for our video cards in order for this issue to be fixed? Um... that's not a fix.
That is what I thought as well but then I just uninstalled Nvidia GeForce Experience and now the service is no longer there and the autohide works for me. BTW I'm still on Start11 version 2.03.
As a quick reminder it has just been around a week since the user posted the link between GeForce Experience and the issue on their computer. We aim to be responsive on bug reports, but for an issue that does not cause crashes, has a temporary workaround and has limited user impact (autohide is I think everyone would agree a niche thing) I do need to set expectations here. ...
I had the same feeling about this as others expressed, mainly because the most official-looking answer was "this is how you disable the service" and nothing else. I do understand that the feature might be a "niche" thing and it is difficult to fix something you can't reproduce but it is a feature you offer.
It is intended as a workaround for now whilst the issue is investigated further. That is also not a critical component as others have said.
Also, I would appreciate this answer a bit sooner. Not after the user complains.
Would it be possible for someone who has this issue to let us know what settings they are using and what version of GeForce experience you are using along with the graphics card and driver version and OS scaling factor.
Regarding this bit.
Since I uninstalled mine a couple of days ago I'm not able to get you the exact version but it was the most recent at the time. The settings were default with two exceptions, I changed it to not apply the best graphic setting for games automatically and I had the experimental setting enabled. I intend to reinstall the GeForce Experience then I can give you more precise information.
My graphic card is MSI GeForce RTX 4080 16GB SUPRIM X and the driver version was/is 546.33
OS scaling factor is 100%
