@sdRohan
As always, thank you for reply and follow-up.
I think the updates to that document and the Stardock Software Subscriptions document have been immensely helpful.
But, yes. I think there is a percentage of current Classic Subscription users - and it may even be a large percentage - who may want things defined just a bit more to cover the example I cited or similar situation.
Not to divulge any personal information but @Narusegawa Naru mentioned earlier in this thread that all of their "purchases have always been done with burner cards". So, the auto-renewal option may not be ideal in that situation. @Narusegawa Naru may want to cancel before the auto-renewal and then wait a few months before doing a renewal of their Classic Subscription, if that will still be possible. All the while with the understanding that during the lapse period, no updates or downloads of applications under Object Desktop would be possible, but that installed applications will continue to work (but cannot be updated) and downloads of updated installers will be prohibited during the lapse period (but that installations and activations using previously downloaded installers will still work).
The update or the expounded definition of Object Desktop Classic might be as simple as:
An Object Desktop Classic Subscription will always be considered a Classic Subscription, even if it lapses more than once during its lifetime. Should your Classic subscription lapse, you will always have the option to Renew in the future.
That is essentially how Object Classic Subscription operated prior to June 2023, and I think there are some users who want to make sure that same "spirit" will be existing going forward.
The big difference between the original and how the new Object Desktop Classic is the automatic renewal.
Which is a great convenience for many. But others may want to know do they have more granular control whilst still retaining their Classic Subscription. Not everyone's finances are the same, of course, so those customers knowing they are still valued and grandfathered into the updated Classic Subscription model with the option to cancel and renew on their own terms (whatever those may be) is likely very important to them.
