I was designing a new ship and encountered a couple of oddities in the available weapons list. The screen snapshot below shows that the Helios Rockets are a missile weapon, but they are listed under the Enhanced Kinetic Weapon heading.
You will also find that the "Gauss Cannon" has the exact same capabilities as the "Cannon" as shown in the screen snapshot below. The only discernable difference is in the text area.
