Dragging and dropping files places them in unexpected fences

When dragging an item from say a zip file to the desktop, I occasionally get the dropped folder appearing inside a random fence.

if I drag and drop the item a second time it tends to appear correctly on the desktop after overwriting all the existing data from the previous drop operation. Is this a normal bug, am I supposed to be able to use my default desktop while fences is active?

Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know more on your system and issue.

You on Windows 7,8,10 or 11? And need to know Windows full version numbers please. Use Winver.exe to get those.
Fences version numbers please.
You're dragging items within Zip file within Explorer.exe or within say Winrar or something similar?
You're dragging and release onto empty desktop area or into Fence area?

1. Windows 10: 21h1 19043.1826

2. Fences 4. (as downloaded from this site on the 2/7/22 (dd/mm/yy) (uninstalled so don't have access to the full version numbers anymore)

3. Dragging files or folders from a zip to the desktop, though I recall it might have occurred on some document moves too.

4. Dragging to an empty desktop area, items would appear (mostly) in a fence that was not near the drop area. (other 3rd of the screen.

It's not something I'm too worried about now, though I really liked aspects of the product it came with some issues that stopped me from wanting to buy it.

Actually, I believe when you drop files on desktop, it best to setup a temporary Fences which you set it up Fences rule to it so that all new items on your desktop to go there. This will stop all new icons to go somewhere unexpected. Something like the screenshot below. You can than move those icons to which ever fence you like.
