Start 11 - Mouse clicks are passed through active window

Windows 11 Home Version 21H2 build 22000.318, Start Menu 11 v1.0. Start Menu is on, button to the left, using a custom button, Windows 7 style.

I'll have a program open, it doesn't seem to matter what the program is, the program is not full screen and not overlapping the task bar, and when I click on in the program window to do something (type, click a button, etc.), the mouse-click is passed through to Start Menu 11 and I'll get an Explorer window. I'll click the title bar of my program to give it focus, and when I click in the program window again, I'll get the same Explorer window.

It is hard to reproduce this action.

It does not happen if Start Menu 11 is off.

Any ideas? Thanks.

I don't know where the beta download is on your web site.

Additional info: If I have Word on top of FireFox (it doesn't matter what the two programs are), sometimes clicking in Word clicks FireFox instead. Turning off Start11 causes a click in Word to be received by Word.

I will try to record a video when it happens again, but only after I install the latest beta version. Clicking the Check Now for update button tells me I have the latest version 1.01.

I am seeing a similar problem related to the mouse pointer.  Whenever I click on the start menu and select a program, the mouse goes straight to the center right edge corner of the screen and I have to move it back to the center.  This is extremely annoying and I'm hesitant to leave start active as it is seriously disrupting my work.

Are you using a normal mouse or something else which might interact with the mouse?

Thats certainly not normal behaviour.

This is most odd as Start11 has no ability to influence which window gets a mouse message as thats handled by Windows at a much lower level.

It shouldn't even be possible for a window thats physically under another window to get a mouse message unless the window above it is marked as transparent to mouse clicks.

I assume this isn't a case of having say word with focus, clicking on the start button to open the start menu and then when clicking away from the start menu causes a problem?  It is in normal use when the menu hasn't been touched at all in some time?

Well it is happening to me, all the time.  If I disable start11 the problem goes away.

Also the problem with really low FPS animation for the start menu is still there

I sporadically have the same mouse-click pass-through problem.

Can I repeat this action? Once it starts, shifting focus usually cures it, so no, I can't. I've simulated it with these images. Thank you for your help.

So far, with animations turned on, there have been no issues with mouse clicks being passed through.

I've fixed the slow start animation (low fps or stuttering) by just using Wallpaper Engine.  What gives??

As long as I have wallpaper engine enabled, everything is super fluid and the slow animation never presented itself again.

As long as I have wallpaper engine enabled, everything is super fluid and the slow animation never presented itself again.

It sounds like your video card may have down clocked itself to save power so much it couldn't animate fast enough but wallpaper engine is using the card more so it is running at a higher clock speed.

Thats very strange as all the reports were on Windows 11 and the problem was to the best of my knowledge resolved and specific to Windows 11 and how certain parts of Start11 worked which have since changed.

Could you explain in more detail exactly what happens?
