You're welcome. I am a Windows Advanced User and conduct remote support as well. What I learn in forums like this one allows me to implement settings and adjustments to others who buy the same products I like to use i.e. Start10, MBAM, eM Client and the list goes on and on.

Most definitely we need a Quick Launch Area and access to settings with a right-click on the Taskbar. Or, the return of the Action Center. If Start11 can include these things I think word will spread quickly. I purchased Start11 and set it up as close to Start10 as I could. Start11 is at a (okay evaluation) currently IMHO but needs a few more features that are commonly used in Start10.

Here is an image of my Start10 layout. Would love to have the configuration setup in Start11 be just like Start10.

That looks nice. Is your Windows 11 Start Button in the middle of the Taskbar? I have mine all the way to left. There are certain items that are not accessible if the Start11 button is moved to the left. Please clarify. TIA

The only item which is not usable when the start button in the middle is the custom start button image on Windows 11.

To access the advanced settings for a style click on the cog on the Start Menu page in the settings app.

I'm okay with Start11 but hope that QLA will be coded into the app. I like to have several documents and website located in my QLA. Just a quick cursor-hover over the custom icons I have made for the QLA and voila! I'm off to a web site, launching a program or opening a file.

Fingers crossed for more features in Start11.

i'm also holding on updating my windows 11 capable machine to windows 11 because of missing quick launch area and other stuff currently broken on the taskbar in general.

i would be willing to give windows 11 fair change if there was a way to bring back quick launch area.

I am posting this follow-up opinion on Start11. I am also running Windows 10, again. I enjoy Windows 10 and Start10. I don't see why Start11 has to be so different from Start10. Start10 allowed us to right-click the Start Button and choose Configure. You have to click the W11 Start Button then right-click in an empy area. Not a big deal but why change?

I also like the quick configuration settings of Start10 much better than Start11.

So back to W10 and Start10 for me until both Windows 11 and Start11 are much more like their previous versions.

Update: (again) I upgraded W10 to W11 but this time I found that Start11 combined with Explorer Patcher brought me as close to a W10 experience as I could hope for.

i'm mainly interested to know if it supports two row tall taskbar, so i could put quick launch with bunch of icons at the bottom and have room for open apps on top.

When first installed the height of the taskbar is like all previous Windows versions, allowing the viewer to see both the time and date on the right. However, there is an adjustment in Explore Patcher that allows the icons and Taskbar to be thinner. That's all I've learned so far about the features in EP. I like my Taskbar thinner and hover the cursor over the time when I want to see the date.

For those who are interested, here is an interim solution which utilizes the existing Quick Launch folder. This method adds one additional click to access an app vs the real Quick Launch.

Add the Quick Launch folder to the Start11 menu using the following.

Follow the Start11 Configuration Menu path underlined to get the screen shown below.
When you click "Add custom location..." enter the location of YOUR Quick Launch folder. Search using File Explorer.

C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME GOES HERE\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch

This folder already exists if you upgraded Windows, I don't know if it exists with a new install, it probably does.
Once added, change "Display as a link" to "Display as a menu".
Drag Quick Launch up/down to the position of your choice.

When you are done, it should look similar to this, minus the menu background. Note, I also added a separator after Quick Launch.
