Windows Explorer crashes with Fences 2.13 on Windows 10 Home x64

Everything is in the title.

Whenever I try to do anything with Fences, it crashes and displays this message:

What should I do?

OK I RE-bought Fences 3, thinking it was just a version problem (as my 2.13 license didn't work, oddly) telling myself it would be dishonest to not just have suggested an upgrade to my already bought Fences 2.13 version.

I was willing to save time by losing money.

Now I lost money too.

Can I get a 10,99€ refund for my useless fix attempt?

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need more information on your system:

  1. Windows version, please use Winver.exe for full Windows version numbers.
  2. Your Anti-virus/security setups.
  3. Do you have Websence / Forcepoint install, usually Corporate Environment.

Thanks

Out of those 4 which is running permanently in the background? From what I understand there should not be more than 1 AV running at one time. If not your system will be have some troubles.

Just for a test, uninstall all except the default Windows 10 Security. You can reinstall those other later. Reboot after uninstall.

Than do the do purge and reinstall steps as mentioned here: https://forums.stardock.com/486084/fences-support-faq#reinstalling  Just make sure to re-download the latest version from your account. Reboot after the purged. Reinstall, and Reboot again after the installation. Retest it. Report back here.

Thank you,

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. It best you start your own new thread with more details on your system.

  1. Windows version, please use Winver.exe to get full Windows version numbers.
  2. More details. What error pop up while you installing, when you run.
  3. Does Fences show up in your taskmanager's startup list? Note: need to have it startup twice in there.

Thanks

Clean Boot makes Fences work.

What should I do then, on the problematic account (that I want to keep, it's my main account)?

If you get back to your main account does Fences work? If it still does not work. Try to see if any 3rd party application is giving the conflict issue. Enable those application one at a time until you found that is causing the conflict. Once you found it. You can go back to your main account and uninstall that application, reboot and see if that work.

It seems there's a problem with acrobat and fences!

when you "enable PDF thumbnail previews in windows explorer" it crashes Fences...

I always had it setup like that but since two days ago no can do... it crashes and continues crashing

After acrobat is removed fences works just fine...and vice versa

Can you guys fix it, please!

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. But, which Acrobat you're referring to? And which version?

Thanks
