No Recent Item icon will display in Start button

In the past the Recent Items icon showed up in the start bar.

Now it no longer does.

So I have no access to Recent items.

my configuration picture Recent Items should display

my start button picture , look at right side, no recent items show up.

I'm using Windows 8.1

Suddenly, without warning, Recent Items just disappeared from the right side of Start area???

Any solutions?

Make sure to re-download latest version from your account and reinstall that. Reboot and retest. Report back here.
