WindowBlinds 3.50a may have "expired" (workaround: turn clock back)

This is an advance warning - if anyone here is using WB 3.5a and has sudden problems, you may be experiencing an unforseen expiry condition in this build of WB. Stardock personnel aren't around right now, but when they are, they'll fix it. If you're experiencing problems (eg unskinned windows, rundll warnings), don't panic!

For now just sit tight and maybe unload WB. You can also try turning the clock back, early indications show that this "fixes" it.

Ok, I set my PC clock back and it works. Can you tell me is it ok to have 2 windowblinds installed? I have one from 4-8-03 and one from 4-28-03. Thanks, i am just never sure if i need to uninstall the old or just install the new with it. Thanks. Also i have OD and i use CM to install, i keep getting a message that says it has detected SDC and i should use that? I thought i am supposed to use CM? Thanks again,
Sorry so many questions

You should switch to SDC but that's no big deal right now..and I certainly wouldn't do it with the clock set back. If everything is working properly I wouldn't un-install anything.

If I upgrade to 4.0. will that "un-expire" me?
yep...3.5 will be fixed on Monday though
I was kinda waiting for 4.1, just in case the bugs aren't all worked out yet!

I also am having the same problems!!
I thought it was my PC.
Thanks for the information!

WB 4 is pretty good, you should go with that one if you're on XP. There was a lot of work done on stability/compatibility issues for it.

Tip

Some people may still have WB 3.49. If you do not want to set your clock back and have that version then try that one. This may work until there is a fix.

I too, was up until 1am this morning trying to figure out what happened. I restored images from 2 days ago, cleaned out the registry, uninstalled/reinstalled w/no luck. Then I thought: let me see if there is anything on the website and viola! There was the answer. Will be anxiously awaiting the fix.

THANK YOU!

I just posted a message up earlier, but your suggestion did the trick. I set my computer date back to March 1st, and it's running now.

Sweeet! Thanks again!

Oh thank goodness. Last night I did all the normal things trying to figure out why my skins weren't skinning. Uninstall/reinstall, defrag, scandisk, reinstalled video drivers, checked for viruses, etc. Couldn't change a thing. Now I have to go back and get all those lovely skins I lost.
So, I suppose we will have to download a new version and reinstall.
