Mouse Issue in Political Machine

Mouse Tracks to corner of screen and is useless

Looks like there is a bug in the game so that you can't play it because the mouse arrow immediately migrates to bottom of the screen and to the right. You can move it, but it just goes back and you can't click anything. Even to exit the game.

Mouse works now, but I can't select anything on the screen. Doesn't seem to recognize the buttons. Any other advice?

Having these same issues again in the 2020 version of the app. I've have tried the various things in the link above but the software has clearly changed since the 2016 version. For example, the "Prefs.ini" file no longer exists and the "prefs.dat" file that seems to have replaced it does not include the "HardwareMouseCursor=1" Line. I have tried what was still relevant from the link above and to no avail. Note, I am running the steam version on Win10.

As soon as I start the game, my mouse is locked to only the bottom and right side of the screen. I can't click on anything or do anything except Alt+F4 out to close the game.. .
