Vertical Column instead of horizontal row

icons are forced into a horizontal row.  I would like them to be vertical.  I can only do it if I make a narrow fence that only allows one column.  Actually, I would like to be able place multiple columns in the yard of the fence that are not the same height.  ie currently for rows you must fill top row before you can start a 2nd row.  Would like to be able to start 2nd row without 1st reaching right side fence. (but in columns)

Thanks.  1st request is the strongest desire.  2nd is a nice to have.  However, if 2nd is (or can be easily made to be) possible in your current row format, I could accomplish my need by making multiple short rows to create a column format.

Subscribing for the same reason - it hinders my work so much that i can't use 1 row columns.

Just made an account for this.  Please add.  this is the ONE THING that is killing me while using fences.  Everything else is perfect.

Just installed Fences to use rather than ObjectDock, but not being able to have icons listed vertically is a massive limitation.  This is definitely a feature that needs to be included in Fences.

Subscribing in case four years of considering has lead to a decision. Doesn't seem that much of a hassle to have a basic toggle enabling/disabling gridsorting by horizontal, vertical, free (snapped to raster), free (no snap). Kinda surprised an organizing utility doesn't allow me to organize.. (especially since my desktop does)

Yes, vertically would be outstanding as I like to have my rolled up fences aligned on the sides.

SD does seem to ignore users' needs and keep bugs around for years. This is called "unresponsive" and SD, you are UNRESPONSIVE.  I've had my fill of do-nothing-and-blame-the-user . I'm about to get my money back. This is inexcusable and unacceptable.  What do you people DO?
