Yeah, you're right! I was thinking of Jack Elam but got him confused with John Taggart. As I recall, they were both in Wagon Train, so maybe that's where I got mixed up.
As for Jack Elam playing Frankenstein's monster, it was a mid-70's sitcom about a guy who inherits a bed and breakfast from a long lost relative..... Dr Frankenstein. Anyhow, Jack Elam is the caretaker and the good Dr's creation and is quite funny in the role. I just can't remember the name of the show now, but I'd sure like to see it again.
