Quoting AbKu,

Do you know where you set the taskbar height in SKS?  I generally modify the text margin on top and bottom and the height of the taskbar gets adjusted accordingly.

Regarding Firefox, the box shows up when I use Venom and Sections skins.  Neutrino for example runs fine without the funny box.

Both the skins you mentioned have been updated not long ago. However Neutrino original date was in 2015 so if you don't have the update it would most likely be fine anyway. Venom is a 2010 skin but also has been updated. If you are using the 2010 version most likely this is causing your problem.

NOTE: Lightstar already answered this. Sorry didn't see that.

To adjust the TB height: Load WB in SKS. Click on "Edit startmenu and taskbar" Click on "Edit Horzizontal Taskbars" Go to Taskbar/buttons/buttons and highlight it. At the bottom click on "Text" The only setting you will need to adjust is the "Top" number. Higher taller taskbar. Lower number to lower the taskbar. I would just try one number change at a time. NOTE: After each change don't forget to click APPLY.

Please note though that if you make the taskbar more than 44 pixels tall, in a lot of cases you will end up with 3 clock tray items instead of the normal 2 in Windows 10. That and making clock font at least -12 should ensure 2 tray clock items though, but not guaranteed.

v10.62 installed, now my taskbar is no longer skinned AT ALL. Have tried several different skins, and everything else is skinned but my taskbar is stuck on the Windows default.

Do you also have Start10 installed?

No Start 10 (Wndows 7 Enterprise doesn't support it) however I do have Theme Manager 4.0 installed. Could they be at odds?

Are windows being skinned?  Have you rebooted?

Theme Manager is no longer supported but should not cause a conflict.

Yes, I rebooted upon the reinstall. Then uninstalled, rebooted, reinstalled, rebooted... My Windows are being skinned just fine, just my taskbar is not skinned, and I have that setting as "skin the taskbar with the current skin" checked.

1) You know how fences tells you to update, this app should have done the same. Older versions of it are not compatible with Creator update and caused a black screen. It took a while to figure out that it was WindowsBlinds causing issues :/

2) Task Manager is broken when skinning it with Win8Metro, see attached screenshot http://imgur.com/a/Td0uT

Still have the problem, that some of the skins will show the effects of WindowsFX on the start menue and some don't. For instance my favorite one "Echo". Is this a skin problem, a WB problem or a WFX problem?

I would like to see if I have this situation. however I have searched in many places for a skin called Echo and can't find it.

If this is an older skin maybe the problem. Many things may look fine with old skins at first glance but they would need much work for them to work correctly.

Advise me where I can download this "Echo" WB and I will look at it.

Echo is one of the skins, that is delivered with WB, when you install it. And i have much older skins working fine...

I knew that once but my mind keep taking me to a regular user WB, sorry.

I have looked that skin all over in SKS and can't find anything. Not sure if anyone looks at this thread anymore. I would think that SD would want to know this if its a skin situation. Know you have been here a long time and may have already sent a support ticket in. If not and it was me I would want my favorite WB working correctly.

We are aware of the issue; thanks for letting us know it is still happening.

WindowBlinds does tell you about updates.  Have you disabled that setting in WindowBlinds? (see About page)  We also sent an email to all the customers telling them about the need to update to the latest version of WindowBlinds prior to installing the Creators update.

Regarding the taskmanager, I just checked here and it looks fine with the Win8 Metro skin included with WindowBlinds.  Is it possible your skin files have become corrupted?

The reason for the Start Menus not animating is any skin that uses Blur (or tells Start10 that it does), will not animate until a future WindowFX update is released.

This was documented internally with the Start10 update and I thought it was on the forums, but it seems to have been missed from the Start10 official release notes.  The change was made due to a visual error with the blur and animations.

Whilst Echo would appear to not use blur, it has been set to use blur on the Start Menu Top part section which is why it is excluded from the animations.

Hello! I'm using the ancient theme for WB, but now its folder path areas filled with black when I click on the Explorer items (it appears with many of WB default themes too). How can I downgrade to the previous verson? I prefer to wait while it'll fix. Thanks in advance!

Where is this ancient theme? I can't find it. Only thing with ancient in it was made in 2004.

How about any skins made for use with Windows 10. Any problems with those? You mat be waiting for a fix that won't happen. Many older skins will work. However they also have areas that don't.

Yes, I understand it) This theme called Harmony and was made in 2007. It seems this at my desktop:

So do you really think I can find its alternative?)) But finaly, it's don't have ANY problems with it at my latest Windows 10, only when I've updated my WB to the last version, so have it a logic to change a theme which I can only downgrade? I'm seeking for its previous version in the internet, but I hoped that I'll find it at the official source.

P. S. It's not free, so I don't know can I share it, sorry(

The next major version of Windows 10 is getting closer, and I installed the latest build as of today. (16288.1, v. 1709). I also use the latest WB that is publicly available. Current theme is Ubuntu 11, although it seems to lack some basic colour settings.

+ taskbar skinning works again, meaning it's not mostly translucent anymore

- I still have to exclude Firefox (64bit version at least) otherwise it doesn't launch/start -> I get the "normal" menu background/texts which is light gray on white -> really hard to see the menu texts. Also true for the bookmarks menu. Seems to be Ubuntu 11 specific though. When another theme is chosen the menus are properly coloured. So If I exclude FF I also need to have "proper" theme in use so the menus are visible.

- WB10 config has it's titlebar cut from the bottom, If I reapply the skin it's properly sized.

Ääh, forget it, this build of W10 is an utter garbage once again. One step forward, two steps back.

When you say the latest version of WindowBlinds do you mean 10.63 or the beta 10.64?

Beta .64 it seems. SD central keeps it up to date I guess. Maybe it was the beta that fixed the taskbar, because I didn't notice when it was updated.

Hi, just updated to last version (WindowBlinds 10.65 (048 - Windows 10 Edition) - 64 bit OS) and All my button accross all applications have no more text in.

Not able to find things such as "Open" "Cancel" "Browse" and so on ...

Any idea how to fix ?

WindowBlinds does tell you about updates.

To clarify, at least in my experience, WindowBlinds will notify you of updates, but not betas.  Just my 2 cents.
