Sadly, blocking firewall outbound rules related to an application are usually easier done with other programs than the trouble I've had blocking Fences for some reason.
At exactly 3:45am MST every day (yes, I work/play evenings and sleep in the day), the Stardock Fences notification pops up letting me know that there is an update (which I am not interested in updating to the latest version). I have closed it, and also selected "remind me later" which doesn't seem to differentiate between the two choices... it still nags me every day. Interestingly, when I do have the latest version, Fences still manages to disrupt my online connectivity whether I'm working in Photoshop/Illustrator or playing games on Steam (note: approx. 50% of the time Steam seems to crash when the Fences intrusion occurs - as I am notified of the offending process before the crash, or when I check the event logs.
I have blocked:
but, Fences still manages to squeak through to inform me of something I don't want to do anything about.
10101000 mentioned doing something about the activate.api.stardock.net, which I would be very interested in learning how to configure.
Apparently you have an option for the entire Object Dock suite to not check for updates... can you not add an option for Fences?!
Any help with how to permanently block or stop this daily connection would be much appreciated! Thank you.
