As you might know...I got into skinning aircraft for FSX - as a non-OS dependent outlet for graphics 'fiddling'. I don't need to worry about OS changes....;)
A guy posted this in-game screenshot...
....at first I thought it was a photo of some more he wanted me to paint....
...then I recognised them...;)
I redrew the 'paint kit' in high resolution [4096x4096 pixel] - which meant each and every panel line and rivet etc.... redrawn cleanly and accurately at double the resolution of the original. As a very multi-layer PSP file by the time I'd done 20 or 30 variants I had to keep resizing the layer count as the files were reaching over 200 meg and the limits of mem on a 32 bit paint program.
The detail at that scale enables you to read the text on the aircraft like...
Canopy Emergency Opening
1. Press latch to open the door....etc...
Alternative method: Break the canopy with axe or similar hardware...
You gotta love the instructions...;)
