Yeah, there are a few pieces of long-hanging quality-of-life fruit that could be reaped by Stardock without (hopefully) too much time:
#1) We need the ability to rename things, especially Planets and Starbases
In Civ4, one of the ways I would keep track of what cities needed was by tacking on (X) to the front. Where X might be "E" for economy, "P" for production, "R" for research or some other thing. That means I have to have the ability to rename the thing when needed. Because a particular planet might be "E" at the start, or maybe I put an asterisk on it because I need to come back to it in a few turns.
For starbases, it would make it easier as I could put "(E)" prefix on Economy starbases, or change their name to better reflect where they are. Or whether they need upgrades or are maxed out.
(Ideally we'd be able to apply custom tags to every entity like starbases / planets, then filter by tag.)
#2) The text input dialogs (descriptions / names) do not support basic keys like Ctrl-A (select all) or Shift-Home or Shift-End.
#3) All lists (ships, planets, starbases) should have a text filter box at the top of the list so that we can quickly filter down to just "colony" ships or planets named "XYZ". Or in the case of the original poster, filter down to just the starbase that the alien race is upset about.
