Start Button - What should happen when you are on the Desktop - selection not working with ver 1

Something new for me with Ver 1.0

Under Control - I have it configured to show the Windows 10 Menu in tablet mode - and Start10 Menu in desktop.

"What should happen when you are on the Desktop?"
I have been using "Start Button shows Start10 menu unless in tablet mode" with the beta and it worked fine.

After upgrading to ver 1.0 it seems to always show the Windows 10 Menu - unless you select "Start button shows Start10 menu" and then it ALWAYS shows the Start10 Menu regardless of mode.

Surface 3 - keyboard detached - switching tablet mode on/off from the action center.

Still having this same problem with ver 1.01 - any update on this?

Tablet mode in the OS is not the same thing that Start10 is talking about when it says tablet mode.

A machine is in tablet mode when it has no keyboard (and has suitable drivers which have told the OS about this)

The OS tablet mode setting has no impact on this.
