Iridium Infulence Problems

So the Iridium Corporation has some problems.

Looking at its iconic influence/wealth building, the Free Market, one would think that the Iridium corporation might want to win an influence victory.

Too bad it is blocked from many of the systems that increase influence. The Iridium can't upgrade their Free Markets and can't build consulates. As a result, their influence building is limited.

Furthermore, Iridium culture starbases can't build beyond the initial cultural forum starbase improvement. As a result, the Iridium are limited in their ability to project influence outward.

It's a problem.

Look under the Economics tech tree, the branch starting with Marketing. There's a whole bunch of influence-generating stuff there, plus the starbase upgrades.

The base Free Market isn't upgradeable, but there's plenty of other ways to get influence. In fact, I think the Iridiums have MORE than any other.

Right. Well, there the problem is the IC tech tree seems to not include the second-level starbase influence add-on meaning you can't upgrade beyond the first level. At least that was the case under 1.02. There was a note in the 1.03 notes that this starbase issue was fixed. I just started a new game so we will see.

That may or may not added the consulate to the IC buildings.

I still think the Free Market deserves an upgrade.

This is still an issue...

Their tech tree has the upgrades to the consulate, but not the consulate itself so there is no upgrade path there.

These techs should give influence bonuses to the free market....

Thanks for the report, the issue with the star base modules has been fixed, and will be in the next build.

I am leaving the Freemarket as is, since you can build as many as you want and they also boost wealth, I believe upgrading them would boot them into OP territory.

I will continue to play with them, they may get re-balanced in the future.
