Nastytang and I collaborated on my Civs graphics but the art work is his. He does some great work. If your looking to have your own custom race I highly recommend his art work!

I agree with jmccrea - that has a nice overall shape, though I particularly like the front end--it's interesting.

I haven't posted anything new in a while 1) because I've been swamped with work, 2) my wife and I have a newborn son and I'm a stay-at-home-dad (who is now swamped with work and diaper duty (and play time)) and 3) I'm now waiting to see what kind of curved pieces the new races have in Beta 5. I've been making some... well, you can describe it how you'd like. I wasn't entirely happy with the way I made curved sections of my curved ships...

Here is a preview of an unfinished redesign of one of those ships. I will be finishing this and the others in the set (as well as adding smaller ships and maybe some variants) once Beta 5 is out and I have time to check out new pieces. That also means all my ships will be in a different shade of awesome (rather than blue & white). Love to know what you think...

Well ain't that typical. My son has been stealing the show for the past three months (quite deservedly, I might add), and even here, I make a post and the only attention it gets is my son... Thanks everyone for the kind words. I feel exceptionally privileged to be a freelancer who works from home and can care for my son.

I am interested, though, if any of the designer-types here have any opinions/issues with the component tray at the bottom of the designer...

I have a major issue with Hyperion shrinker. logistics and supply buildings. None of my custom ships I equipped and armed will show up in any new game in the ship designer or shipyards menu's until all three are built again and only as long as they are built next to each other. Other testers say its because I armed them in my previous game after I built the Hyperion structures. MY issue is that even if there are no Hyperion improvements built my ships should still show up listed in designer and shipyards as grayed out and unavailable but they do not even appear on the menu's until all Hyperion structures are completed. Dev's have not chimed in yet to address my issue even though I have reported this 3 times.

I think a contributing issue is the ship upgrade duplication bug. The ships list get so full there is no where for my ships to appear on the list I have to set menu's to USER just to see all my custom ships. I have yet to test Beta 5 to see if it's been fixed yet. I am also praying that beta five did not break all my custom ship designs.

Ugh...I hope this isnt true...i love having my custom race and was so looking forward to those ships...oh well.  I can wait til you check on it and ill hope for the best!

Hey folks. So I've been fiddling around with the ship designer and finally decided to submit something. I had a look through the last few pages of designs and decided to go for something...fairly ambitious and probably over the top. Still, a few rough edges aside, I'm pretty happy with the end result.

The issue was indeed fixed. All my ships show up now, shinker or not.

I am going to put a zip file together. All you need to do is open it and copy or move ship design files to your designs folder in C:/mydocumets/mygames/GalCiv3/designs.

Open and load game,  ships should all appear in ship designer and shipyards.
