Start8 Problem

I updated to the latest version of Start8 that was released on 4-25-2014 on both of my computers and it does not work correctly, not able to scroll in all program mode and the control panel tab and all other tabs are empty.  I just went back to version 1.4 and everything is working okay again.  I think there is a bug in the new release, I am running Win 8.1 with the latest update and I am running   32 bit and 64 bit and neither one works on the new release.

That should not be the case.

Have you tried uninstalling, rebooting and installing again?

Also what do you mean by control panel tab being empty?

When I click on the Start8 icon on the left task bar the search window comes up and a list of programs comes up in the left panel and there is seveal things in the next panel like games, control panel, devices and printers, etc.  Whne you click on all programs all of your current programs show up in the left column and you can scroll up and down the list.

 

In the latest version the left panel is almost empty and no up or down function and the next panel to the right is blank, this happened on both of my computers and my options were the same as the previous version.  I will just stick with the 1.40 version until another new version is available.  

 

The update versions always uninstalls the previous one and then reboots after the newer version is loaded.

I have checked here on multiple systems and not one is showing the problems you are seeing.

I would suggest that something went wrong during the upgrade process and you should uninstall, reboot and reinstall.  When the installer replaces an existing install some files have to be replaced on reboot and it may be this didn't happen correctly which is why in the event of issues we always recommend splitting it up manually.

Also check your Start8 settings in case the right hand side items have been set to disabled.
