The only suggestion I can offer about this and the issues some people have verses other not having any issues is this: Many times when I had issues with Stardock software it was because something was "off" about my system. It could be registry errors, a program that needed to be deleted, or I had a virus/spam/whatever that needs to be taken out.
I am not running OD on my Win8 system (I was thinking about doing it though because my laptop is a touch screen and iit would be so much easier to use OD than Fences - unless Fences has some setting where you can hit an icon once... but still ts just animated awesome like OD)
Another suggestion:
Use ObjectDock 1.9... its a sucky suggestion but it might just work better on the system. Is ObjectDock a 32 bit application? Not that it should matter that much but it may be part of the issue.
Using ObjectDock 1.9 also might even fix the issue, then re-install OD2 again and see what happens.
My Honest Opinion:
Personally I think ObjectDock will be updated eventually, but keep in mind that MS seems to keep updating Win8. Maybe when things settle down with Win8, their will be an update. Gotta keep in mind that most OD users are probably on older systems and they are doing just fine.
I also remember back in the day when Apple tried to sue Stardock about ObjectDock and they failed is a big way. I'm sure Stardock wants to keep what makes windows even more usable and fun. ObjectDock has to be one of the most popular system apps it has (I'm guessing) except for maybe Windowblinds (and maybe Dreamscapes).
Yeah I know.... the original reason why this thread was made:
I know the stuff I wrote doesn't even come close to answering the original reason why the thread was made, but I hope it helps. To reiterate, I would definitely run a Registry check, see if their is any spyware/malware on the system, then un-install and re-install ObjectDock is necessary and see what happens.
