I guess that it is not only the selection noise, because it is displayed at the beginning of a turn, too, if you have a unit with movement points left.

That noise is terrible ... considering muting my game now.

Thank you Frogboy - yes that sound is annoying, and it is actually taking away from the normal game sounds, like the cackling of Mites (hehehe love that sound) - even worse during tactical battles - especially when the enemy (in a huge group) is moving, you hear this bink, bink, bink for every movement that is made.
