The Fences 2 installer should have prompted you to uninstall Fences 1.  Did it?
End of Zubaz's quote

No, it didn't.

SDC shows Fences 1.1 only installed.

OK, I have a triple monitor system, Windows 7 64 bit.

I have tried the pages thing, and when I try to change pages by dragging from screen edge, all fences disappear.

Bug: I cannot move folder portals if I have set "Show Labels" to "Never" while I can move fences. I just put the cursor near the top margin of a fence and it changes into the four-arrow move cursor. With folder portals, the cursor doesn't change.

No Carl. It should move from one page of Fences to the next.

I'm guessing this feature doesn't take multiple monitors into account.  Gonna try it on my single monitor laptop.

Ah, so You have setup 2 or more pages already. Okay, have not been there yet. ;-)

Each set of monitors is considered one page.  So if you have a fence on monitor one and a fence on monitor two they, together, are page one.  If you swipe, both monitors will be blank, because you are on page two.  Create fence three and fence four and swipe back to page one . . . working as designed now?

This is the details header problem that I mentioned on the beta announce post:

The three document fences (they're all folder portals) at the bottom are set to 'Details' view.  The two fences at the top are set to 'List' view.  The fences at the bottom have the following option checked:

This works when you check it first time around, but it does not persist across a reboot (need to uncheck and recheck 'Hide details header').  The top fences don't have this problem because they don't get the details header.

A separate issue is that the Fences control panel does not play nice with Windows Explorer backgrounds (for example from customisation by WindowBlinds) and ends up getting blotted out, unlike the other stuff on the control panel.

Finally, on my netbook which is running Windows 7 Starter and doesn't have WindowBlinds 7 installed, fences that are folder portals have a solid black background instead of being transparent like the examples above or the other non-portal fences.  They also sometimes clip in front of a program that is hogging the whole screen (like a web browser, for instance).

Are you using Windows classic view, or do you have a theme applied (so Aero is invoked)/

This is a WB issue that I think will be fixed in the next release.

Any word on the missing "Exclude from hiding..." feature ?

Aero is disabled in Starter edition.  I'm not using the Windows Classic view, just the built-in Windows 7 Basic view.

I should also add that the black background on folder portals has showed up on my desktop which is running Win 7 Pro, has Windowblinds 7 and is using the Corporate theme from Stardock.  It just took a few days longer.

Wanted to report a bug with v2.00 Beta 1 that I've encountered.

I use TrueCrypt with a sensitive data drive.  The volume/drive never auto-mounts, I do that manually after Windows login.  If I create a shortcut to a file/folder on that drive and stick it in a fence, the shortcut will disappear randomly after rebooting x number of times.  It happened to my two primary folder shortcuts on the drive, who's fence still exists (and is currently empty).

No idea if this happens to a folder portal, as I have not tried.

This is really intended behaviour: If a shortcut doesn't exist, don't show it.

Try loading the last snapshot after you mount the drive.  That should restore the shortcuts.

Drive mounted, shortcuts created and fenced.  Snapshot taken, drive dismounted, right-click desktop and Refresh - shortcuts disappear from fence.  Re-mounted drive, restored snapshot, shortcuts remain gone even after right-clicking and choosing Refresh on desktop.  Edit: they appear to have moved to my "Unsorted" fence, where I put all new icons by default on the desktop.

I would revisit why you chose to hide/move shortcuts that point to a volume not accessible or visible.  That includes encrypted volumes, hot-swap drives like USB sticks, etc.  Requiring someone restore a snapshot to restore hidden shortcuts is too tedious, in my opinion.  They may have made/changed other fences since the last automated daily, and this would cause no end of trouble when it reverted.

As a fences user, I would simply like to see shortcuts remain where they are, and utilize default Windows behavior for shortcuts.  If their drive isn't accessible, they simply timeout.  If you'd like custom behavior, you could dim their icon or make it slightly transparent to indicate the file they point to isn't available.

Same bug of display in post n° 5 (https://forums.wincustomize.com/430840/get;3222786)

Stardock Central still show Fence 2 Beta in the available update even if it's already installed.

Fence Portal doesn't refresh itself when deleting a file in the actual folder, it's still displayed after deleting it...

Been able to fix the black folder portal problem (on desktop) by unloading and reloading Windwoblinds.  I'm thinking that it's some sort of issue with Windows startup because it's not showing up at other times like say, when an old program that hates being skinned and is on the exclusion list is exited.
