AI is uber annoying now

did a 4 player FFA unfair,

started with one AI in my star system

I've currently destroyed TWENTY EIGHT of their goddamned capitol ships, the AI has nothing but 2 asteroids left, it never even got to get out one effing Titan. Right now it's been hanging on with its bare teeth by ninja colonizing random planets that currently have too much hostile culture for me to take.

And the ENTIRE time, even with TWO asteroids ( with a population of 24!), it somehow has enough income to throw 10,000 credits at the pirates every 20 minutes or so as well as throw capitol ships at my home planet by completely ignoring the 3 other planets with starbases in them that they had to travel through.

Why won't the AI quit?  The past games I played in Rebellion usually had the computers giving up when they had 4 or so planets left, but I'm starting to feel like I'm playing vanilla.

I swear this is the first time I've managed to get a Titan to level 10.

I found the AI in diplomacy the best...The AI here is still in beta - Theres allot to it because titans and corvettes have changed things

ive noticed if i get a titan behind enemy lines (just rush your titan by the eneenmy fleet and travel a few systems back if you get to say their homeworld they ramp up corvette production and you could have 40 or so corvettes attacking your tita which is a very human way to platy)

Also the AI had 10k to throw at pirates because you where plauying against an unfair AI

Lets wait and see what the next few updates are like

Ai cheats; it is unfair after all.

I'm glad to see that the AI is getting better at harassing players and preforming better overall.

It isn't, played against two agressive unfair AIs yesterday. They tried stomping me until I had my first starbase up, after that I had to go after them if I wanted to fight. They set up fleets a lot faster, but after they teched enough they will just keep falling back into their old pattern. The chance of encountering an AI that actually keps up the pressure is something around 1/5...

No, I don't mind how aggressive or annoying they are, just how it seemed a lot more tenacious.

In any case, the AI never ended up surrendering, it only died after I took out ALL of its planets.

Well, back in 0.76 and the version before that, the AIs quit well before I had to completely destroy them....

How do you know if it's aggressive?  I usually leave my AIs on random o.o

Click the AI type button once and it should be changed to Aggressive.

I know about the settings, was just wondering if it was possible to tell ingame

Although I'm guessing if an AI attacks 4 of my planets within 30 minutes of game start with enough ships to destroy a level 1 Titan, that's pretty aggressive >.>

The AI seems radically different from today's update, although I'm not exactly sure if it's because of a personality switch or because my main enemy went from Advent to TEC (as did I)

Only thing I noticed was that in midgame he relied a bit too much on entire fleets of lower level frigates that my titan was 2shotting with Disruption Matrix every 3 minutes.

The entire point of any ai level above hard is that it's allowed to cheat to a certain degree. The ai can only get so smart, so they have to be allowed to cheat to some degree. Plus I think it makes the game more entertaining (and more interesting) to deal with the computer equivalent of a hacker.
