So, operation #1 - the location was the eternity vault (from the ziost's ship). Not 100% what if the op was called eternity vault or what. The main boss was a bad ass sorcerer fellow. Anyway, onto the feedback.
1st - I think these would be so much fun with folks I know. I had a good enough time with folks I didn't anyway. The previous night, I was a bit bummed out as I wanted to do some flashpoints but couldn't find anyone to do them with. I initially decided I'd do some flashpoints one way or another last night no matter what. I ended up doing boarding party and foundry with 2 fellas that were like level 33 and 39 (compared to my 50). Obviously, it wasn't super exciting or challenging (or rewarding), but I wanted to experience more of the story. That said, mission accomplished. I uh... learned a bit more about Revan to say the least. Highly recommend trying these.
Anyway, before I even started the flashpoints, I set my LFG indicator. As soon as I finished those flashpoints, I was immediately invited to join an ops group (8 man). I think it is VERY important to set that LFG flag and indicate what role you play. I'm going to do this immediately going forward. I'm guessing that its pretty common for folks to get recruited into ops groups if they are down a man, etc.
So, the ops group I did took around 2 hours. The rewards were OK. I didn't exactly make a large amount of credits, but I ended up with a very good helmet with better stats than anything I've seen before, and blaster pistol with the same, and 3 exotic crafting materials that enabled me to make some badass reusable items in biochem. So, I suppose that's pretty good, even though it doesn't sound like a heck of a lot. I am excited to see what sort of loot I will get on the next run.
re: the folks I was playing with. Well, if you've seen those Leroy Jenkins WoW videos, you have a little bit of an idea of what these folks were like. I'm sure it was quite nerdy - not quite as extreme as calculating % dmg, etc, but close. They asked me to join a vent server before we got started, and so I did. Voice chat seems to be pretty critical in ops - at least imo. As there were 2 of us that had never done the op before, we obviously didn't know what was in store for us. The ops leader took time before we did any major battle (most battles were major) to explain what we were up against and tell us them plan. The guy was super detailed (obviously having done this op multiple times before). He had everything down to a science and all we had to do was fulfill our role. On the downside... that was something I could not do in one of the boss battles. See, when I was recruited (as a healer), the guy that recruited me for some reason thought I was dps. There was a boss battle that we could not possibly win if I was a healer. So, I had to respec. The good news for me, anyway, was that I've never respec'd, so it was no cost. That said, I'm now a full dps build. The fellas in the ops group even went so far as to read me a proper DPS spec build so I could quickly get it and rejoin them. Anyway, after being respec'd, I tore through the fella I could not beat before as a healer. I think I'll enjoy playing as a DPS for now as well.
Other things - holy crap are there some powerful tanks out there. We had 2 in our group of 8. These guys were tanking like 15 enemies having 500,000 hp a piece.... was crazy.
Anyway, it was a good time - looking forward to doing some of these with you fellas in the future.
