I'm following this thread too, except I have zero intention to play.   MMO games aren't my thing, but it is nice to see something "Star Wars" succeed by getting the proper development attention it deserves.  Hopefully if Underworld is done well we may get a bit of a Star Wars Renaissance thanks to it and this game.

No major complaints that I can think of.  It's, for the most part, my first MMO (or at least the first one that I dedicated some time to and got into).  I think that if you like RPG's, its a bit of a no brainer to pick it up.  So many different stories with a substantial amount of content. 

 You don't want to trrust Metarcitic on games like this.  10% of the haters will be people hating because it isn't exactly what WoW is, and 10% are sandbox MMO fans who will always be upset that a game is too much like a theme park just like WoW. 

we will need to start talking about clan operations soon.  I'm plowing ahead to 50 and it seems like a few will be joining me before too long.

I'm crafting pretty hard core in biochem, so I might be of some assistance early on if you folks let me know what sort of implants will be useful.

If we dont' get into operations, I'll likely join up with another crew for some of them and then start a new character on the same server and wait about. 

If it got all 10's I be worried.

Its got some issues, with lag, FPS, and other growing pains. ALOT of people dislike it b/c there are other MMO's play better, offer this or that. etc etc. Better than SWTOR.

But where this MMO's really really shines is its storytelling. If your one who could care less for the story and like to get to max lvl fast...your money is gonna feel better spent on other MMO's who storytelling is wall of txt that all but the most hardcore RP's dont read, usual.

If you can find someone to play with every so often just to do cutscenes together...you really start to see the best part of the game. Character Developement and Interaction, beyond stats, gear, and levels.

Ive had an awesome time playing with a certaint Operative, who I cant name for your safety. Im enjoying so much b/c I get to interact with how I play and he plays our characters. It doesnt hurt that we have a great synergy. And its nice to see it outside combat.

Reminds me a lot of playing Mass Effect on the Xbox. That game's gameplay was very lackluster between the OK cover system, repainted planets, and bad inventory system. But you know, all I have is fond memories of the game due to all of the cinematic moments. I'm a story kind of game, so I'll be excited to get into the game when I get the oppurtunity.

Sidenote: Is ths game DX 10? My brother was complaining about being unable to play the game with his old computer, so I was curious.

Well - I hit level 50 anyway.  I have no idea how operations work in practice, yet. I'm on the last planet now (illum).  Someone told me it was a pvp planet, but doesn't appear to be the case.  I believe I'm still part of my main class story, but not entirely sure.  Never played and mmo to the "end game" before, so I'm not sure if I eventually just stop getting quests or how it works. 

Also, multiple annoying repeatable quests.  2 of them on illum I can't even figure out how to do and appear bugged.  Oh well.  Anyway, hoping the flashpoints are fun.  I skipped a ton of them on the way, but I can apparently play through any of them on hard now, so I can have some fun there methinks.  Just very curious about operations.

Since I was big fan of Knights of the Old Republic and was desperately looking forward to a KOTOR III release, I picked up this game because I heard that it actually had a good character-centric story, unlike traditional MMOs.  It is true.  The story is certainly on par with many single-player RPGs, and it's extraordinarily impressive given that each (base) class has it's own unique storyline.  On top of that, each planet you visit in the game has it's own mini-story.  However, if you want a complaint, my biggest complaint would be that I feel like they artificially drag out the process of going through these story lines.

When I first got my hands on the game my real interest was to simply play through my character's story.  I really didn't want to get too bogged down in doing the endless "Kill 30/45/60 of X" bonus and side quests.  Unfortunately, by completely skipping all the side quests and bonus quests I felt like I was getting both under leveled and under equipped for where I was in my classes story, and eventually I ran into an opponent I simply couldn't beat.  After backtracking and completing all the quests I skipped I had no problem advancing past where I got stuck.  Since then I have always picked up every side quest and have always made sure to complete them and their bonus components, and I have yet to get stuck again.  If these side quests could either be skipped, or if they were simply condensed (Kill 5 of X instead of 30), I'd be happier, because it feels to me like all they do is get in the way of the more interesting main quests.

The game also makes it so you can rarely get from Point A to Point B without getting entangled in a lot of repetitive encounters.  It's not that I don't expect there to be enemies while journeying throughout hostile territory, I just feel that it's a bit excessive at times to the point where it just feels tedious.  It's a kind of phenomenon that I've only really felt while playing MMOs.

Ultimately I feel like if the game shed some of its repetitive nature it would be easier to become immersed in the story, and one could probably progress through it in half the time or less.  It's been suggested to me that I could do other things, like War Zones or Flashpoints, if I wanted to level up a bit without going through so many bonus quests.  That might be a good idea, will definitely look into it when going through other class story lines.  However, like most games, it depends on what you want from it.  If you picked up the game because it's the closest to KOTOR III that we will probably ever see, it might satisfy you.  Just be warned that you will probably have to go through a bit of "MMO busywork" in order to get that out of it.  Of course your expectations could differ wildly, in which case your experience would likely be entirely different.

I have heard the lvl 50 has some serious upgrades to them. Hope to be there soon though right now I am working main and 3 alts.

I'm level 47 but haven't had much time to play in the last few weeks, and the fiance is off this weekend too, so I won't be able to sit around and play video games like I love to.  

Same.  I'm not sure if its possible to be in 2 guilds or not.  I'm going to wait about a bit and see if things change once more and more of us start hitting 50 to see if we end up doing more flashpoints/ops together.  If not, I'll likely try to find another guild thats a little more active in that sort of thing.  As it is, I think I'm the only level 50 in our little group, but some are creeping up there.

You should start hitting me up for some flashpoints.  I'm pretty much up for just about anything.

Thanks for chiming in.  I'm looking forward to Karagga's next then.  I also didn't know that they throw in extra bosses in hard mode.  Hoping to do some of those soon. 

re: some new things seeming more polished than the old - who knows; could be they had completely diff dev teams working on the different pieces or perhaps they've just been gaining more and more experience as they go along with their QA and dev.  That said, that's extremely encouraging to hear, though.

Does anyone know if repeatable dailies exist on all planets or just specific ones?  I'm not just referring to heroics.  Just trying to figure out all of my option at level 50.  I've been going through and wrapping up a few bonus missions.
